Junko and A Deal

The second and third class came and went and I was on my way to lunch. I took the detention slip out of my pocket and sighed sadly.

Suddenly, a fair skinned hand with freshly manicured and painted crimson red nails landed on my shoulder. I turned around in surprise and was faced with Junko with her sister, Mukuro, following close behind her.

"OMG, how did you get a detention? Aren't you, like, some sort of nerd?"

Junko was one of those stereotypical popular girls of the school. She could ruin someone's life in a second, making her power over everyone in this school astronomical.

"I, uh, was late to class. Now I'm probably going to be late to tonight's dance and my mom is gonna kill me..." I trailed off, dejected.

"Tell ya what," Junko took the slip from my hand and ripped it in two. "I know the teacher who runs detention, so I can get you out of it."

I was still on the defensive end of this conversation. "What's the catch?"

"You have to be a model when I show my talent at the school festival! No matter how much make-up I put on my sister, she's still an ugly cow!"

I cringed at the insult and the catch. If my brother said that to me, there would be a full out war. And a model, me? This has to be a set up. The school festival isn't until at least a month! I hadn't even planned what I was going to show to my peers and the administration that related to my talent.

"Um, alright..." I answered with a forced smile.

Junko smiled, almost to the point that she looked creepy. "Don't think of backing out, though. There's no escaping what's set in stone." With that, her and her sister walked back in the opposite direction.

Hm, weird...Why did she do that?

I continued to lunch, nevertheless. I looked around the cafeteria. Fuyuhiko, Peko, and Gundham weren't at their usual table. I sighed and got my food. Perhaps it was for the best?
