Slack Instant chat

Daniels: Hey so I wanted to talk to you about Gideon. You're ghosting him now?

Faith: I'm not ghosting him.. I'm just trying to figure things out. And he hasn't exactly reached out either.

Daniels: Tell him and get it figured out.

Faith: He likes AmazonWarrior... what happens when he reacts badly to the fact that I know him. And you knew who I was and that I've lived under 30 minutes from him this whole time. What happens?

Daniels: I think the sooner you tell him the better. Stop playing with him and get it over with.

Daniels: To be honest... I'm getting a little annoyed.

Faith: What?

Daniels: I can't tell if you actually care about Gideon or if you're just toying with him.

------------

"Lawrence! Get in here!" I tore my eyes away from the soft glow of my laptop screen with a slight eye roll as flair. Name Partner Bob Loblaw was shouting across the hall instead of asking his secretary to nicely call me in.

I didn't have the time to chit-chat with the office sleazeball. I needed to explain to Garrett the situation. I wanted to tell him that I look forward to every text- every phone call with Giddy. I had my doubts, but none of them were in regards to my feelings for Giddy.

Ugh, I sound like a pansy.

I pressed my thumb and pointer finger to the bridge of my nose just before another loud shout echoed throughout the office. Heads turned from down the hall, including Garrett's.

I shoved myself away from my desk and made my way to Bob's lavish wood-trimmed office. I stood in the doorway, with the eyes of everyone in the office on me as I drummed my fingers along my thighs waiting to be motioned into the room.

His graying hair was slicked back with so much oil that I could practically see myself from here in the reflection.

Instead of entering into the office fully, as he wanted, I paused just a foot away from the door.

"You wanted to see me, Sir?" I asked innocently. I lifted my black stiletto and crossed my ankle behind the other. Without looking up from his paperwork, Bob rudely pointed to the chairs in front of his desk.

I rolled my eyes again, knowing he wouldn't see the annoyance threatening to jump off my face and strangle the stubby old man. I decided against sitting and stood behind the chair.
