Torn (Book 2)

"They're a friend of mine but...I haven't seen them in a long...long time..."

Tokoyami POV

Y/N and I walk back to the picnic I set up.

We sit back down finish eating.

"Tokoyami."

"Hm?"

"On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate Hawks?"

Hawks?

"That's kind of random...but I assume a 5," I answer, giving Y/N a suspicious look.

"I see...I give him a negative 60," Y/N states.

"EXCUSE YOU! I AM AT LEAST A FIVE!!!!" I suddenly hear someone shout.

I look up and see Hawks watching us from a treetop.

"Oh. So you've decided to reveal yourself..." Y/N says, completely unfazed, eating a chocolate covered strawberry.

"Hawks! Why are you here?!?!?" I exclaim.

"Y/N wasn't in her room and neither were you so I looked around and found you guys. Pretty cute~ Nice little date you have going on here~" Hawks teases.

"L-Leave!" I yell, my face burning.

Hawks shrugs and flies away,
"Good luck~~~~"

Hawks!!!!

I sigh.

This date is not going how I planed...

"Fumikage...come here," I hear Y/N say.

"Why?" I ask turning my head to look at her.

She's holding out her arms like she wants a hug.

"Hug," Y/N says, giving me a small smile.

I get up and walk over to her, sitting down beside her.

She wraps her arms around me and pulls me into a hug.

I wrap my arms around her waist and rest my forehead on her shoulder.

Y/N POV

I wonder if...

I start running my fingers through Tokoyami's feathers.

He seems surprised at first, but soon relaxes and cuddles closer.

Aww...how cute...his feathers are so soft and fluffy...it reminds me of...

Flashback

"This bird doesn't have a home and can't be set free...they've only known care from humans...they'll die on their own..." Lee explains.

I look at the pretty birdy.

It reminds me of the colors of lemonade...

I then remember a yellow bird from a cute cartoon.
