Marshmallows

Gabriel was exhausted. Between taking care of Cassie and trying to make sure Sam was okay after his whole kidnapped by demons thing, all the angel wanted was to watch some bad television. And obviously eat a bag of marshmellows. Unfortunately, he didn't think that was going to happen any time soon.

"So, wait, you're a witch?" Meg asked Ash. Gabriel didn't know much about the new girl, but she had saved Sam and gave off gay vibes, so she seemed pretty cool. Plus being a witch was pretty bad ass.

"Yeah. I didn't expect demons to come kidnap me for it though," Ash said.

"Hey, pretty sick still. And you got out, so that's also pretty cool," Meg said, and Gabriel rolled his eyes. They should just makeout and get it over with.

"Yeah, finding out demons are a real thing, getting kidnapped by them, escaping from them, finding out angels are real..." Ash looked around the house. "It's been a really long, really weird couple days."

"Nah, I get it. I didn't expect to find out my friends were angels and demons too. But hey, join the club. What is it your brother called us?" Meg asked Gabriel who was currently laying on the couch with one leg thrown over the arm and the other tucked underneath him.

"Other than gays who can't sit in a chair properly?" Ash offered. Gabriel scoffed.

"This is a couch. And I can sit properly, I just chose to be different. And are you talking about when Lucifer called us the rainbow club or when Balthy's boyfriend called us team free will?" Gabriel asked. Meg scowled.

"I was talking about Crowley's, but Lucifer's also works," Meg said.

"We are not dating," Balthazar said as he entered the house.

"Dude, no one believes you," Gabriel said with a yawn. "Hey, where's my moose? And where's the squirrel?"

"I was sleeping, sorry. Getting kidnapped by demons will do that to you," Sam mumbled as he came down the stairs. It was the morning after they had all reunited, and Sam had gone to bed...Gabriel looked at his watch. Fourteen hours ago. Well, he ought to be well rested now. Michael came down the stairs after him, being nearly chased by a half dressed Satan.

"Mica, wait two frickin' seconds and I'll go with you," Lucifer grumbled, attempting in vain to button his jeans while also pursuin Michale down the stairs.

"Don't have time. I'll be back," Michael said as he reached the door.

"What's going on?" Gabriel asked, sitting up.

"Dean went out with that stupid red-haired....girl," Michael said. Girl was not the word he wanted to use and everyone knew it. "And he's still not back."

"Demons?" Sam asked. Gabriel climbed to his feet.

"Worse. He probably spent the night," Gabriel grumbled. "I'm making squirrel soup for dinner if he did that."

"Yeah, well, I have to go find him, make sure he's..." Michael was cut off by his phone ringing. "Hello?" he asked as he answered. There was a muffled response and Michael's look from one of concern to absolute fury. Gabriel had found the source of Sam's bitchface.

"For God's sake, Dean! You died. Do you not get that? You literally died, and then you just decide to go home with some random..." Michael was cut off by the muffled voice. "Oh, yes, I am well aware of the fact that she said she knew you. We don't trust what people say! How stupid are you?" Michael yelled. Lucifer grabbed the phone.

"Look, Dean. I get it, you wanted to have some fun with your friend. Whatever," Lucifer said, even though his face said it was not whatever. "The more you're out there, the more you put all of us at risk, Sammy and Cassie the most. So you slept with the girl, good for you. Now get back here!"

Gabriel was so intent on the conversation that he hadn't noticed Cassie standing at the top of the stairs. His dark hair was disheveled, his blue eyes dull and framed by dark circles. He was growing stubble on his chin, and he was dragging his crumbling wings behind him sadly. As soon as Lucifer turned around and saw Cas at the top of the stairs he trailed off.

"Hey, Cassie..." Gabriel started as he jumped off the couch. He was hoping, praying to Chuck (who had conveniently disappeared again) that his baby brother hadn't heard any of what was said. From the pained look on his face and the tears in his eyes, there was no chance of that.

"I need help with my wings," Castiel mumbled. Gabriel nodded and followed his brother up the stairs.

"I'm sorry, Cassie, I really am," Gabriel said as he started to groom his brother's feathers. He was gentle and made sure to stay away from anywhere he wouldn't want to touch.

"It's fine, Gabriel. I'm happy. Whoever this woman is, she's probably better suited for Dean anyway," Castiel said. Gabriel stopped what he was doing and glared at his younger brother.

"Cassie, you went to hell to get him. You destroyed Heaven's gate, you did this to your wings. Don't tell me that there's anyone better suited for Dean Winchester than you," Gabriel said. Castiel looked at him.

"He wouldn't have been in hell in the first place if it wasn't for me. He's better off without me."

Sorry, this is bad. I just wanted to publish something...if I have enough time I'll try to write another chapter before Sunday. I don't have anything else to say.

Sometimes people will ask you to smile when you don't want to. They want you to pretend to be happy when you feel your soul ripping itself up and open. Don't smile for them. Show them your teeth in a growl. Don't pretend to be anything for anyone.

I have the honor to be your obedient servant.
