Castiel glanced over at Michael, who was at the bar ordering drinks. Castiel looked around the club. It was loud. Very, very loud, scream-in-someones-ear in-order-to-hear loud. There were a lout of people dancing. Ash and Meg had disappeared somewhere into the crowd, and he could see Sam a head above everyone else in the club dancing with Gabriel, who was too short to be seen from Castiel's point at the edge.

"Hey, I got you a water," Michael practically yelled in Castiel's ear. Castiel took the glass and drank out of the straw. "You good?"

"Yes," Castiel said a bit too quietly to hear. Luckily Michael could tell what he was saying.

"Look, knowing Dean, he's probably closer to the middle. I can go get him if you want," Michael offered. Castiel shook his head. He was going to have to do this. He could do this. Right?

"Hey there blue eyes," someone said. Castiel turned to see a man standing in front of him. Castiel looked at Michael. "You want to dance?"

"I don't think so, buddy," Michael snapped. The man glared at Michael.

"What, he with you?" the man asked Castiel. Castiel cleared his throat.

"No. I'm here with someone else. Looking, for someone else," Castiel said. Michael looked at the man. Castiel was pretty sure this stranger would have to pick his words carefully if he wanted to live.

"What about you?" he asked Michael, who promptly rolled his eyes.

"Take a hike," Michael snapped and the guy glared before slinking off back into the crowd of dancing bodies. "We've got to teach you how to deal with getting hit on Cassie. Come on," Michael said, grabbing his arm and pulling him into the crowd. Castiel decided he didn't like clubs. They smelled like a strange mixture of perfume, alcohol and sweat. There were laser lights all over the place, occassionally flashing in his eyes and blinding him. And it was loud. So, so loud. MIchael tried to say something to him, but it was too loud. The hunter pinched his arm and gestured with his chin to Castiel's left. At that same moment someone stepped in between Michael and Castiel in an attempt to talk to Michael. Castiel turned to where the hunter had gestured.

Castiel was never going to get over how beautiful Dean Winchester was. He was standing at the bar, talking with a group of guys in drag. The bartender came over and brought a round of shots. Dean grabbed them and passed them around and then proposed a toast of some sort. Castiel watched the scene from a far, suddenly still in the chaos of the music, the lights, the movement. It was like there was no wind, no disturbance as people jostled around him and bumped into him. He smiled despite himself.

And then a woman came up behind Dean and wrapped an arm around Dean's shoulder. She kissed his neck and then grabbed his arm, pulling him toward the dance floor. Anna. Dean waved goodbye to his new friends and then wrapped his arms around Anna as they danced. Castiel made sure the angel blade was in his sleeve before walking forward.

He honestly wasn't sure what posessed him to do what he did now. As Dean spun Anna out from his chest, Castiel grabbed Dean's arm and pulled him close.

"Cas?" Dean asked, clearly confused.

"Hello, Dean," Castiel said.

"Hey, uh, what are you doing, buddy?" Dean asked. Castiel wasn't entirely sure how he felt about the term 'buddy' and decided he didn't want Dean to call him that. So he pushed his lips into Dean's neck. Dean seemed too confused for about ten seconds to do anything. And then Castiel felt Dean's fingers in the hair at the back of his head. "Hey there," Dean mumbled, although he made no attempt to pull away.

"Dean?" Anna snapped and Castiel looked up to glare at her.

"Anna," Castiel said, pushing Dean behind him.

"Cas?" Dean asked, clearly confused.

"Stay behind me, Dean," Castiel said. Anna scowled.

"You don't know when to quit, Castiel," Anna said. "I wasn't going to hurt Dean. I was just keeping him away from you."

"Why? Most of our brothers and sisters are fallen or dead, Anna. Why are you still trying to fight me? I wouldn't have hurt anyone if you would have..." Castiel started.

"I wouldn't have had to kill Dean if you wouldn't have fallen in love with a human," Anna said, voice filled with disgust. Dean tensed up behind Castiel.

"Wait...you?" Dean started. This was the moment Michael managed to escape from the horde of guys trying to hook up with him. He grabbed Dean's arm. Anna looked at all of them. And then she pulled out her angel blade.

"Someone has to stop you, brother," she said to Castiel. He pulled out his own blade.

"I wil kill you, sister. I recommend you leave now," Castiel huffed. Anna took a step forward and Castiel met her, weapon in hand. As soon as they started fighting panic broke out in the club and everyone attempted to escape the violence. Dean tried to jump into the fight, but Michael grabbed his arm and pulled him out of the club. Even better. Castiel didn't want Dean here for this. One of the club partons ran directly in between Anna and Castiel, and Anna didn't hesitate to plunge the angel blade in the girl's chest. Castiel dove forward to catch her, placing a hand on her wound as he held the girl to his chest, fending off Anna's relentless attack with his other hand. As soon as they girl was healed he pushed her toward the door and she disappeared into the panicked crowd in terror and confusion.

"You always have loved humans too much, Castiel," Anna hissed as he sliced open her arm. She winced in pain but her eyes glowed with anger.

"Perhaps you simply never loved them enough, Anna," Castiel responded. She attempted to stab and he plunged his blade into her wrist. She screamed in pain and dropped the weapon, stumbling backwards and then colapsing on the floor.

"Kill me, brother," she growled. Castiel walked across the now empty club to where she was and knelled down beside her.

"I can't kill you, Anna. I never wanted to hurt any of you. You..." he started.

"Watch out, Cassie!" he heard Gabriel yell from the entry way of the club and saw that Anna had an angel blade sheathed in her boot. She grabbed the weapon and attempted to stab Castiel, but he plunged his own blade into her heart. She glowed from her mouth and eyes for a second, and then slumped on the floor of the club. Castiel sat down next to her body, wiping the blood off of his blade in defeat. "You okay?" Gabriel asked. Castiel looked up at him with tear-filled blue eyes.

"It's over, Gabriel. It's over," he said. The angels who wanted to hurt them were gone. The demons who wanted Sam were all dead. And now he was sitting on the floor of a club with the dead body of one of the many siblings he had killed.

"I know Cassie, I know. Let's go home," Gabriel said, offering a hand to Castiel. He took his brother's hand and let him lead him out of the club and toward their house.

It was finally, at last, once and for all, done.
