Chapt 5 - Water Ghouls 2

LWJ: "How?"

WWX: "How? Oh, you mean how i knew? The displacement was different!"

Lan Zhan nodded, understanding what Wei Ying meant. One step forward, two step forward, Wei Ying stood right behind Lan Zhan. He leaned forward and said "Hey, don't be so angry. I didn't do it on purpose. Water ghouls are very clever you know! If I said it out loud they would definitely swim away!"

"..."

"Hey, I'm sorry okay. I said I didn't do it on purpose. Don't be angry." Wei Ying said, using his shoulder to nudge Lan Zhan's back.

"I'm not."

"Hehe, okay then." Wei Ying grinned, satisfied.

Suddenly, the boat started shaking non-stop. Wei Ying excitedly said, "It's here! They're coming!"

The water ghouls started grabbing the side of the boats, trying to climb up. Lan Zhan drew BiChen, severing all the hands on the left side. Just as he was about to settle the right side, a red light flashed past and Wei Ying's sword was already back in its sheath.

Although Wei Ying's sword attacked very quickly, having sparred with him previously and seeing his attack, Lan Zhan could tell that his sword was of a very high quality. Hence, he asked seriously, looking at the sword "What's the name of this sword?"

Wei Ying immediately answered "SuiBian".

Lan Zhan stared at him without saying anything, hence Wei Ying repeated himself "SuiBian."

Lan Zhan frowned and said "This sword has a spirit. Calling it as one pleases is very disrespectful."

Wei Ying sighed and said, “Think outside the box, won’t you? I wasn’t asking you to call it whatever you wanted to, but the name of my sword just happens to be ‘Suibian’. Here, look.”

As he spoke, he passed the sword over for Lan Zhan to see the characters on the sword. Surrounded by lines and patterns, two ancient characters were carved onto the sheath. It was indeed “SuiBian”.

For a few moments, Lan WangJi was at a loss for words. Wei WuXian showed his consideration, “You don’t need to talk. I know that you definitely want to ask me why it’s called this name. Everyone asks if it has some special meaning to it. Actually, there’s no special meaning at all. It was just that, when this sword was given to me, I couldn't think of any names I was satisfied with so I said 'SuiBian' and after the sword had been forged, these two characters were on it!"

Lan Zhan gritted his teeth and said with a heavy tone, "Ridiculous!"

Wei Ying laughed and said, "You're such a boring and cold person. Looks like I named it well! It's so good at tricking people like you! Hahaha"

Just as he said this, they both realised that the water colour has changed to black and they had already drifted to the center of Biling Lake. Lan Zhan said, "Go back immediately."

"Why?"

Lan Zhan answered, “The water ghouls led us to the center of Biling Lake on purpose.”

Just as he finished his words, they felt their boats sinking. Wei Ying realised that at the center of the lake, a large whirlpool had formed. Their boat spun uncontrollably. Wei Ying and Lan Zhan looked at each other and mounted their swords at the same time.

Wei Ying looked around and spotted a boat coming into Biling Lake caught up in the whirlpool. There was a man on it and he seemed like he had fainted. He immediately dashed towards the boat and grabbed the man by the arm. Wei Ying's sword was very agile but not that strong. With the weight of another man, Wei Ying was barely balancing himself.

Suddenly, Wei Ying felt his collar tighten and he was lifted into the air. He looked up and saw Lan Zhan grabbing his collar with one hand, though Lan Zhan continued looking at the whirlpool expressionless. Seeing that Lan Zhan's sword could hold the weight of three people and continue rising up steadily, he thought, 'Wow! This man is not only rich and handsome. He is very strong too! Worthy...'

"Hey! Your sword is quite strong! Thanks for your help! But... can you grab my arm instead? It's so uncomfortable when you grab my collar. Here, grab my arm!" Wei Ying said, reaching his arm upwards.

Lan Zhan coldly replied "I don't touch strangers"

Wei Ying said "What do you mean strangers? We're already familiar with each other! All that's lacking is your name!"

LZ: "We are not"

WWX: "Tsk, you're cold indeed. But we're definitely buddies already! Besides, that was a waterborne abyss, wasn't it. You said drowning is not a common occurrence right? Then why would Biling Lake have a waterborne abyss?"

Lan Zhan, shocked that Wei Ying actually knew that it was a waterborne abyss, replied, "It must have been chased here from somewhere else."

"Mn, I agree. That's the only possible explanation." Wei Ying said, nodding his head.
