Wei Ying and Lan Zhan continued exploring WaXi Town. Soon, they walked into an ally with lesser people. As they walked, they realized that they havent seen much people. All of a sudden, they were surrounded.
"LAN ZHAN! SAVE ME!" Wei Ying screamed even though Lan Zhan was right beside him. Wei Ying clung on Lan Zhan's arm, trembling.
They were somewhere in the middle of an ally when all of a sudden, about 15 wild dogs came out and surrounded them.
1 dog was enough to bring back Wei Ying's horrifying memories in his childhood, where he lived on the streets and was often being chased by wild dogs, competing for food. Now there were 15 dogs and Wei Ying's face paled. He trembled uncontrollably.
The dogs started barking and Wei Ying jumped onto Lan Zhan, trying to get to safety. "AHHHHH! LAN ZHAN LAN ZHAN LAN ZHAN! HELP ME! SAVE ME! AHHHH! LAN ZHAN! AHHHHHH!"
Lan Zhan did not expect Wei Ying to jump on him. He immediately reached out his hands and caught Wei Ying.

Wei Ying was too scared to even think that Lan Zhan shouldn't carry him in princess style. Everywhere they looked, there were dogs and they were barking from each direction.
Wei Ying couldn't stand it. He started crying out loud while burying his face against Lan Zhan's chest, hands covering his ears. Lan Zhan was at a loss. He liked holding Wei Ying like that but he couldn't bear seeing Wei Ying cry or tremble out of fear.
Lan Zhan tried to chase the dogs away but the dogs came on more strongly and barked even louder, inching closer. Wei Ying screamed even louder and cried out even harder. Even though he covered his ears, he could still hear the dogs very clearly.
"Sniff sniff... Lan Zhan... sniff... save me... ShiJie... save me... sniff... ShiJie... sniff... SHIJIEEEE, SAVE ME... sniff sniff" Wei Ying cried out non-stop.
Lan Zhan frowned a little. 'ShiJie again?' He then continued trying to chase the dogs away. The dogs backed off a little but continued. Lan Zhan tried calming Wei Ying down. "Wei Ying, it's fine. I'm here."
One dog came forward. It seemed like the leader and started circling Lan Zhan. All of a sudden, it bit Lan Zhan's leg. Lan Zhan jerked a little which caused Wei Ying to open his eyes.
Wei Ying had softened his sobs after hearing Lan Zhan's voice but after seeing Lan Zhan get bitten, he wrapped his arms around Lan Zhan's neck and buried his face in Lan Zhan's neck.
"LAN ZHANNN!" Wei Ying screamed. "I'M SCARED, LAN ZHAN, I'M SCARED, SAVE ME!"
Lan Zhan shook off the dog on his leg and with much effort, managed to break through the pack of wild dogs.
Lan Zhan immediately ran further into the alley. The dogs were chasing madly which left Lan Zhan running the hardest he could.
After running quite a distance, Lan Zhan had to find a way out. He said gently "Wei Ying, use SuiBian." Lan Zhan wanted to mount their swords but with him carrying Wei Ying and running so quickly, he couldn't reach for BiChen.
Wei Ying was still terrified in Lan Zhan's arms. He was still sobbing and didn't process what Lan Zhan said.
Lan Zhan didn't have a choice. He changed the position he carried Wei Ying. While running, he shifted Wei Ying such that Wei Ying would be facing him. Wei Ying thought that Lan Zhan was going to let go of him and immediately wrapped his legs around Lan Zhan's waist.

Now, he was clinging onto Lan Zhan like a koala bear. Lan Zhan supported him by holding his waist with a single hand. With his other, he grabbed BiChen and sent BiChen out. He then jumped onto BiChen and flew away from the ally.
Lan Zhan flew back to the entrance of the ally and got down from BiChen. He sat at a stool at a nearby closed street stall. Wei Ying was still like a koala bear, while sitting on Lan Zhan's lap. "Wei Ying, it's fine now" Lan Zhan said as he rubbed Wei Ying's back.
Wei Ying squeezed Lan Zhan's neck and pushed his head even deeper, as if he wasn't already leaning against Lan Zhan's neck. He shook his head, saying "No... I can still hear them... Lan Zhan, help me" in between his sobs.
When Wei Ying shook his head, he rubbed his head against Lan Zhan's neck, slightly tickling him. Lan Zhan smiled a little and gently replied "I'm here, it's fine."
Seeing that Wei Ying hasn't fully calmed down and wasn't letting go anytime soon, Lan Zhan stood up and started walking slowly back to the inn.
His leg didn't hurt but it was bleeding quite a lot. Even so, he enjoyed walking down the quiet road with Wei Ying clinging on him.
