Delaney POV

When I woke up next I was in a very unfamiliar bed. I slowly opened my eyes and saw bright lights which made me think I was in the hospital. I felt a figure at my side calling my name, "Delaney? Hey, Delaney", I could recognize that voice anywhere. I opened my mouth a I was able to make some sort of whisper sound, "Barry?", I whispered. My vision became more clear and I saw Barry smiling at me, "Oh thank god you're ok. I was so worried when you passed out".

I slowly at up but my head was pounding and I looked at Barry and tried to speak again, "Bare?", I whispered. He smiled so wide, "You can talk again!", he yelled, getting excited. A woman I recognized as Caitlyn walked over to me and checked my vitals, "It seems as though the adrenaline of seeing Barry hurt caused a reaction inside your body to heal and enhance your vocal cords. It's nice to see you again Delaney", she said with a little smile. I remembered her, Cisco and Dr. Wells from when I would come and visit Barry.

I put a hand to my throat trying to process everything and then remembered why I was there, "You", I said looking at Barry, "It was you. You saved the cop at the Stagg event. You saved those people from the burning building. You have superpowers? How?", I whispered putting all the pieces together. He looked at me with guilt, " I'm so sorry I didn't tell you sooner Delaney. Joe made me promise not to tell you or Iris", he said trying to explain.

I looked at him and scoffed, "Of course my father knows. That's why you two would go off on your secret conversations. How could you be okay with hiding this from me?", I asked him angry, my voice cracking from just getting it back. He reached for my hand but I pulled it back, "Please Delaney. I'm sorry. I wanted to tell you so badly". I shook my head, "I have to go", I said walking out the door. Caitlyn looked at me, "Wait! We have to run more tests on you. That scream was definitely not normal. I think when the particle accelerator exploded and you screamed for Barry, the dark matter fused with your voice box and now you have a super-sonic scream of some sorts".

I shook my head and walked out but then felt a gust of air go by me and suddenly Barry was in front of me, "Delaney please don't hate me. I was just trying to protect you". I look at him, "Yeah and look how that turned out", I whisper and walk past him to the elevator. When I got home, I saw my dad on the couch and he ran over to me, "Oh baby you're ok". He came to embrace me but I stepped away which made him look at me confused. "How dare you tell Barry not to tell me", I whispered looking at him, "Did you really think I wouldn't find out".

He looked at me shocked, "You can speak again?", he asked. I nodded, "At the factory, after Barry whisked you away, he got beat up by that clone guy and I screamed knocking them all out. Apparently, I got powers that night too. And yet I couldn't find out that my best friend has super speed and has been running around the city saving people?", I almost yell. When he doesn't respond, I walk away and go upstairs to be alone.

A few hours later I got a call on my phone from Cisco, which confused me because I don't remember giving him my number. I answered, "Cisco? How did your number get into my phone". He seemed rushed and panicked, "I'll explain later but we really need your help right now". I sighed, "Cisco I told you guys I can't handle all this right now".

"Barry needs you!", he yelled into the phone. That alone was enough to get me to rush to STAR labs. I run in and see Cisco, Caitlyn, Dad, and Dr. Wells huddled around the computers talking to Barry. He must've gone after the clone guy, oh god he's gonna get hurt. I may be mad at him but I don't want him getting hurt. I heard Barry say, "I can't. It's impossible", that's when I knew what I had to do.

I rushed to the computer, "Nothing is impossible Barry. You taught me that", I said into the mic. I heard him whisper, "Delaney? Look I'm--". I cut him off, "We'll talk about that later. Right now you have to do this".
