Delaney POV

Numb

That's all I feel now, numb.

I mean how are you supposed to feel when you find out that you father's face and life has been taken over by an evil speedster who killed your boyfriends mother. After I ran away from Barry's lab to have some time to myself, I went home and ran straight to my room. That night I heard voices downstairs so I slowly walked down the stairs to listen, "I kinda already time travelled", I heard Barry say, No one said anything but I could tell they were as confused as I was, "I was running to stop a tsunami from hitting the city-", he started explaining. Caitlyn interrupted him, "When was that?", she asked.

"A few weeks ago. Right before you started getting those dreams", he said talking to Cisco. Cisco sighs, "Oh you mean the ones where Wells uses his super-speeding hand to shred apart my heart? Those?", he asks sarcastically.

"Yes, right. So what if they're not dreams?", Barry asked. "What else could they be?", Caitlyn asks. I make my presence known, "Memories. Maybe Cisco found out about Dr. Wells so he killed him then Barry turned back time so it never happened", I said. They all turned to me with a mix of shock and concern on their faces but I ignored it. Dad looked at Barry, "So if it never happened, how does Cisco remember it?", he asked. Barry shrugged, "I don't know. All that matters is he does", he looks at us, "I think I have a really bad idea", he says.

Dad looked like he was zoning off until Barry called him back, "We have to access Cisco's memories somehow. Somewhere in his subconscious is the key", he says. Dad looks at him, "The key to what now?", he asks. Barry looks at him, "Getting my dad out of prison", he says. I look at him, "And how are we gonna do that?", I ask him. He looks at me, "We're going to get Wells to confess to killing my mom", he says.

The next day we were at STAR labs adjusting a pair of sunglasses to help Cisco access his memories. "So, this will allow Cisco to see into his dream?", I ask Caitlyn. She nods, "I got the idea from a journal article on lucid dream therapy. They think it can be used to help people suffering from post traumatic stress disorder", she explains. Cisco scoffs, "Traumatized, stressed? Check and Check", he jokes.

Caitlyn grabs him another tool, "The theory is that it allows people to objectively enter their dreams and face their fears. Still working on the talking part", she said. He keeps working on it, "And you're sure this thing isn't gonna, you know, mess with my brain", he asks worried. She shakes her head, "The amount of electricity required to trigger lucid dreaming is harmless. Probably", she whispered the last part.

"Who's gonna be lucid dreaming?", our heads look up to the doorway where we see Dr. Wells rolling in. My whole body tenses and I feel my jaw clench before I feel Barry grab my hand and squeeze to calm me down. Caitlyn looks at him, "With all of the meta-humans in Central City, people have been seeing some strange things--things that they don't understand. and it's just a matter of time before psychological issues develop", she says.
