LOOK HOW ADORABLE HE IS IM CRYINGGG

Michelle walked to lunch with a smile on her face. Recently she'd begun to smile more, she knew it was because of Peter and she was almost embarrassed that the boy was having such an impact on her, she was supposed to be indifferent and aloof but now she would giggle when he would grab her hand. The old Michelle Jones would never have even imagined giggling around the school much less because of Peter Parker. But hey, she was beginning to realize that maybe change wasn't so bad.

It had been a long journey since the beginning of the school year. Now it was nearing December, her favorite time of the year, and she was so much happier than she had been in August. What a difference a few months could make.

Today was also a special day for her little brother Drew. It was his seventh birthday. Recently, she hadn't been able to spend as much time with him because of the internship and her new relationship with Peter, but she had set aside the whole afternoon and evening for the boy. They were going to do everything he wanted, well, everything that they could afford.

Money was still tight and Michelle had started to work less hours at the bookstore since she started her internship. She kept telling herself that the internship would eventually help her into a good college and earn her a high paying job. A few instances she'd almost asked Tony or Pepper to be a paid intern, but she'd stopped herself every time. How embarrassing would it be to have to ask for help when they were already giving her so much?

She shook off the thought and sat down next to Peter at their lunch table with a sarcastic, "hey losers." Peter almost immediately took her hand with a smile.

"Hi Mj, you look pretty today," she fought off a blush and shook her head rolling her eyes.

"You don't have to say that every day, Parker," she glanced at the boy before pulling her book out of her bag with her free hand.

"I'll keep saying it until you just accept it and believe it," he shrugged and she stared at him for a moment, how he was able to read her so well all of the sudden she would never understand.

Ned made a strangled noise from the other side of the table and they both jumped, seemingly forgetting that he was there, "you guys are so cute I'm gonna throw up."

"Where's Betty man? You should totally invite her over here!" Peter exclaimed completely ignoring his comment before turning back to Michelle, "Mj, I was meaning to ask you, could I come over after school today? I-"

She interrupted him, "No can do nerd, it's Drew's birthday so I'm spending the whole afternoon and evening with him."

He shook his head with a breathy laugh, "No, that's just it, I have a gift for him that I want to give him, I could just swing by," Ned made another noise and sent Peter a knowing look, Peter just shook his head in alarm before continuing, "I can be really fast and then you guys can spend the rest of the time together!"

Michelle smiled, she didn't even know how he knew it was Drew's birthday but at the moment she didn't care, "sure you can come over, if you want you can just walk home from school with me."

"Great," he smiled and bit his lip, nodding to himself and ducking his head slightly, "that's really great."

Peter was almost running to keep up with Michelle as she walked toward the subway. She found it funny that for almost every single stride she took he would have to take two. "So are you gonna tell me what gift you got for Drew?" She slowed her pace so that the two were walking side by side.

"It's a surprise," he said lacing his fingers with hers as soon as he reached her, "I think he'll like it."

"You've met my brother a total of one time," Michelle said giving him a look, "how can you be so sure you got him something that he'd like if you don't even know him?"
