Fire And Ice

Chapter 2

Tris POV:

I want to rescue Four and Peeta, I really do but I don't think I'm ready for TV appearances. It's not my thing. I look to Katniss for an answer. "What are we going to do?"
"We're going to do whatever we have to do to survive and if that means helping Coin then we do. But we do it on our terms" She says proudly. She's definitely meant for this job, me on the other hand not so much.
"And what will our conditions be?"
"Whatever we want them to be. I want my sister to keep her pet from home and I want to be able to go above land to hunt. What do you want?" She asks me, almost as if she knew my answer.
"I don't want Four and Peeta to be punished for anything they've said and.... Katniss theyre on again."

We both turn to face the TV screen that has appeared behind Katniss. Awestruck. Both Four and Peeta are on the small screen, talking to a host about their so called beliefs. It goes on and on about how the Capitol are good and are just trying to help but then something strange happens. They're talking about us, me and Katniss.
"Tris, Katniss. If you're listening to this please understand that the Capitol has done nothing wrong. Don't help Coin with her plan because it will destroy you. It will destroy us all." Four says and it makes me want to gag.
"That's not them talking Tris. They don't mean it. I know what you was going to say earlier. You want them to be treated fairly and not be punished. You want them to be able to roam free in District 13 and I want it to. They will be our terms. I'll go tell Coin what we have decided and you go sleep or go find Finnick or someone." She turns on her heels and leaves me alone in the corridor that connects with the cafeteria. It gives me chance to think. What will life be like when I do get Four back? Will it be the same or will it be unrecognisable?

I go to find Finnick to tell him about Coin and what she wants us to do. I can't stop thinking about the appeal. What if they are telling the truth? Or part of it at least. They must know something, there has go to be clues in what they are saying. All I have to do is work it out. I need to find someone who can hack the system and show me all the files. There will be something. I just need to work out who I can trust and what to do if there is something there.

I approach Finnick with a smile plastered on my face. He laughs. "What are you laughing at?" I ask
"You. Despite everything you still have a smile on your face. What's up?"
"Well I have some semi decent news." I say.
"What is it?"
"Coin will get Four and Peeta back and won't let anyone hurt them or punish them."
"There has got to be a negative to this."
"There is. She wants me and Katniss to make TV appeal and appearances. Promo shoots. She said Katniss was the Mockingjay and I was the Snow Queen."
"Okay and this is bad because?"
"I can't do this. I'm not that type of person. And I need to see the other TV appearances from them. I can see they are hiding something, they know something is going to happen I can see it in Four's eyes. I just need to figure out what. Will you help?"
"Of course I will Tris. Where do we start?"
