Fire And Ice

Chapter 4

Tris POV:

The final bomb hit and we were allowed out of the bunker, me and Katniss where pulled aside to start our promo shoot. "Where will we be filming it?" I asked curiously, I didn't want to be in a bomb site, they could strike again. "Where they bombed us" the guard said.
"How can Coin be sure they are finished?" Katniss asked
"She's not but the planes have left the area" he said.

We walked out of district 13 and into the rubble of the surrounding area. I looked around in shock "This is terrible." I said. Katniss nodded in agreement "When will the film crew be here?" I asked.
"There won't be any. There's cameras hidden in the rock that we put out. You'll be talking to them not a person." The guard said and me and Katniss both nodded.

Katniss started first "Hello citizens of the Capitol. We thought you should know that those in power have just been here and bombed District 13."
"But we want you to know that we are alive and well here in district 13." I say. "We show you the damage that hate can do, but we will not surrender. We are stronger than ever and we will get Four and Peeta back. No matter what it takes." I continue and Katniss looks at me. "You see that", I point to behind me, "Fire is catching and of we burn. You burn with us."
"Thats all from us. We are alive and well in District 13." Katniss says and the red lights on the cameras stop flashing and we go back inside where we see and anxious President Alma Coin.

"Well done girls. Thank you for doing that. As a reward we are letting you both go back to your own districts to get some of your things that you have been wanting. Our guards and Boggs our head team leader will be going with you to ensure your safety." Me and Katniss both nod.
"Thank you Ms Coin. When do we leave?" Katniss asks
"Immediately" She replies and I feel my face forming a smile.

Me and Katniss start to get on our plane when I see Finnick out of the corner of my eye. "What's he doing here?" I ask Katniss.
"He's part of our fight team. Our protection." I nodd still a bit confused.
Boggs comes and greets us with a friendly smile and a handshake. "As I understand you've just come doing a promo shoot where you only had cameras in the rocks. When you go back to your own district you will get a film crew. Meet Belle. She's your head camera women." He looked over at Bella so that she could speak.
"Hi I'm Belle. This is Freddy, Messiah, Bradley and Pollox. Don't expect to get much out of Pollox he's a mute," Katniss nods whilst I shake each of their hands, "We're here to film you being you just so that 13 always have something they can use. It will almost be as if we aren't there." She finishes
"You escaped from the Capitol?" I ask.
"We did it to be here with both of you," Messiah replies and I feel a strange comfort when he talks to me, "We'll be going to District 12 first Tris so be prepared."

I suddenly feel very uneasy at the thought of having to go back to my district, what would they have done with it? I can only imagine what the Capitol would've done to my people and their lives and jobs. I gulp as we land in a remote part of District 12. I look out of the window and see the ruins, it must have been bombed at some point. Now most of the once beautiful building are ruins, destroyed by the impact of a bomb. We get off the plane and start looking around at once used to be my whole life, back when things where easy. The team and I start walking out of the woods and to my house. I see Tobias' house in the distance and feel tears burn the back of my eyes. "It's like he's here again." I say referring to Tobias.

We get to my house and Belle and her team start to film me looking around at my things and the devastation of the bombs. I have to try my hardest not to cry but I don't know how much longer I can do it for. By the time it's finished it's just slightly afternoon so we go back to the woods to have some food before we go to District 1 for Katniss. We're all sitting down eating from the supplies that Boggs and his team brought with them, then Pollox point to one of the birds singing indicating he was asking a question. "Can I sing?" I guess and he nods. I start to sing the only song that I know, one that my dad sang.
"Are you? Are you? Are you coming to the tree? Where they strung up a man they say who murdered three."
I feel the cameras face me but I continue regardless.
"Strange things did happen here no stranger would it be if we met at midnight in the hanging tree."

finish and they stop filming, I'm slightly embarrassed that I've revealed a part of myself that I've never shown to anyone, not even Four. What will he think of me?
We finish eating and get up to get back on the plane and go to District 1 for Katniss.
