Kelani POV

**August and I pulled up to my moms and he sparked a wood.**

Kelani: I'm bouta be blowed as fuck in here.

August: You and me both baby.

**We smoked our wood then went inside. I used my key to open the door. It was only a few people there. I spotted my Auntie Cindy first.**

Auntie Cindy: Hey bany!

Kelani: Hey auntie Cindy!

*She hugged me tight. I hugged my grandma and some other family members, then August and I went into the kitchen where I knew my mom was.*

Kelani: Mommyyyyy

Katrice: Hey baby!

**My mom hugged and kissed me and August. Then my auntie Jen walked in**

Jennifer: His phone is still going to voicemail.

Katrice: I don't understand this.

Kelani: Who? David?

Katrice: Your lil brother done lost his goddamn mind.

**They call David my brother because that's how we grew up.**

Kehlani: Where is he? What's going on?

Jennifer: I don't know where the hell he is. He's been on a streak with this shit. Not coming home, he got kicked out of school, he's running with the wrong people. The police had to bring his ass home the other night. Like I'm tired. The only thing left that I ain't done yet is put his ass out and he's on his way to that.

**I huffed and shook my head. I hated hearing this shit. My mom started bringing the food out to the table and I helped her. When we had the table set we all sat down, my mom said grace, then everyone started eating**

Cindy: How you liking school Kelani?

Kelani: I love it. I'm actually the teac--

**The doorbell went off. I knew exactly who it was**

Kelani: Nah let me get it.

**I opened the door and David was standing there. I know my face said it all. I stepped outside and closed the door behind me.**

Kelani: What's up? What's been going on with you?

David: What you mean?

Kelani: Your mom told me everything David. You fuckin up. You know she ready to put your ass the fuck out? And the the fuck happened with school?

David: Ion know man.

Kelani: You don't know?

**I nodded my head**

Kelani: That's alright. I got something for that. Get in there and sit down.

**I opened the door and walked in after David. He sat down.**

Kelani: Aunty Jenn, Mommy, can I talk to you guys I'm the kitchen? Please?

** I met my mom and Auntie in the kitchen.**

Katrice: What's the matter baby?

Kelani: I have an idea, and I need y'all to have an open mind about it...

Katrice: Aw shit.

Jennifer: What are you talking about?

Kelani: I-- I wanna move David...to...Cali with me and August.

Katrice: Lani...

Kelani: Y'all, we gotta get him away from all of this. Look at what happened to Melvin ma. What do y'all wanna wait until it's too late?
