THE INVITATION

"You cannot just get up and start walking. Any fool with brains will know that." Podd said with gritted teeth glaring at his extremely annoying patient.

The moment Gavin had opened his eyes and seen Podd using a stethoscope on his chest, all he kept asking for, was an immediate discharge from the hospital. Podd looked exasperated and Newwie stared at his friend amused.

"I am fine, I can walk" Gavin barked though he winced even while speaking😁. I couldn't help but chuckle.

"What are you doing there showing your teeth? Tell this guy that I am fine. I want a discharge." Gavin said looking angrier by the minute, as now Podd had opened all the buttons of his shirt and checking his lower tummy where he had the stitches.

"Shut up Gav! 'This guy' is your doctor and I can't take you anywhere unless he thinks it's okay to do so."

"No infection, everything seems fine, I will give two shots now for the pain. In 3 days you will be good to go." Podd said with a blank face as if Gav had never spoken.

"I said.....I want to leave. Tay this is your own goddamn hospital. Can't you take me away??" Gav's voice trembled as Podd turned him sideways gently.

"Wh...what...do you think you are doing?" Gav looked at him confused.

Podd didn't even bother answering him, he looked at us and said, "I need to give him two shots on his bums, please can you go outside for a while."

"No no no absolutely not, I am not letting you prick anything on my back.......give it on the arms."

"No can't do, it has to be there on the bum or on your waist, choice is yours. Bum should be less painful though, ask Dr. Thitipoom."

Gavin looked at Newwie helplessly, and Newwie nodded agreeing to Podd.

As both New and me were leaving the room Gav shouted out in a cracked voice, "Tay....Tay.... don't leave me please......man...my buddy..... please stay here with me......"

"Take the shots Gav it will help reduce the pain. I will be just outside."

As I was leaving I heard Podd say, "Two shots on both your bums. Don't worry I will be very gentle." His voice sounded amused as if he was enjoying Gavin's plight.

"Shut up! I am not letting you expose my bums."

"Just to jog your memory a bit, I did the surgery and I saw all of you exposed.....I am a doctor there is nothing to hide."

"Tayyy tayyyyyy yyy........" I heard Gavin's desperate cry, before I shut the door behind us.

We went outside and got ourselves a coffee from the expresso. I knew Gavin was in pain but somehow I found the situation quite funny.  I saw a smile hovering on New's lips.

"What are you thinking?" I asked him as he kept smiling to himself.

"Nothing......really."

"Definitely something....why are you smiling?"

"I was wondering what would happen if Dr.Lina entered that room now....😂 Have you seen how your friend Gavin is glaring at Podd everytime Podd is touching him. I wonder what was Podd thinking when he had the knife in his hand, in the surgery room. Both want to murder each other😅😅 so bad" He laughed.

"You look happy today.  What's with your mood? All gossipy!!"

"Hmm..... I am happy today, because Dr.Ratchanon will be back tomorrow morning and I will have my evenings free again. I have so much pending work. Now I can finish them all."
