I stared at him as if he had grown extra ears. What the f*ck was he talking about?

"Have you gone crazy?"

"What crazy? I saw how you were all smiles when Nana Lou talked about you and Mild."

"Seriously Tay? Do you know that Mrs.Lou is a heart patient who has undergone an open heart surgery? I am her doctor. I am supposed to keep her happy and calm. So if at that moment, she had asked me to marry even a cow, i would still be smiling, if that kept her happy."

The idiot chuckled, and i felt even more annoyed.

"You do love cows... don't you?"

"What?"

"That day when you got drunk you kept saying, you could even kiss a cow and you kissed me........and now you are saying you could marry a cow....and look it's again me standing next to you."

I would have kicked his leg if my leg was functioning but since i was crippled, i did the next best thing. I gave him a solid punch right in his stomach. As he doubled over in pain, i gave him a crooked smile.

"Ahhhhh.........it hurts!!!! What kind of a doctor hurts their patient?" He croaked holding onto his tummy.

"Oh! Have you forgotten? I am just your dad's doctor......"

"You are still hung onto that! Mild hardly knows you....what else could I say?.................See? This is the man whom I occasionally kiss... specially when he or me or both are drunk...........he is my friend and kiss buddy??"

I raised my hand to throw another punch but he grabbed my hand.

"You could have just said friend. Am i not your friend? Don't you consider me to be your friend?? "

"Friends don't hurt friends the way you did that day. I was hurt and angry New.........so I wasn't feeling particularly friendly at that moment when I introduced you."

I felt guilt rise inside again. Would he ever forgive me for that day? I was stupid and dumb 😕 I should have controlled my stupid mouth but.......words once spoken can never be retrieved.😓

"I am sorry Tay."

"I know you are...."

He released my arm and walked towards the door to close it, which was still wide open.
The moment he turned his back towards me, I quickly picked up the file of that lady 'Preeda Vihokratna' and dropped it inside my bag lying next to the couch.

I should have given that file to him but curiosity got the better of me...... i could give it to him tomorrow. The file was already lying around for 25 years what harm could one more day do.🤔

I collapsed on the couch again exhausted. I still had to take a shower, clean the room, wash the dirty dishes......laundry....okay that could be done tomorrow......the pain in my leg was killing me... inspite of taking the painkillers..............

I slowly opened my eyes and was startled to see Tay peering at me anxiously.

"How many of those painkillers did you take?"

Why is he talking so loudly? I want to sleep.........My eyelids felt so heavy that I couldn't even move them. I shut my eyes tight. Sleep was taking over every part of my brain. I felt so relaxed.......
