Slowly very slowly, my consciousness returned. I opened my eyes and stared at the man kissing me. I still couldn't believe that the wheel of fortune had turned in my favour. I needed to see his face to believe it really was him.

My incoherent drunk brain suddenly became very alert.

His tongue nudged my mouth commanding me to give him access. I parted my lips and he almost devoured me, his tongue savage, his teeth wanting to tear my lips off. I could taste my own blood and yet he ravished me again and again as if punishing me.

I gasped for breath but he wouldn't stop so finally I placed my palms on his chest pushed him away.

"Stop...... please stop. You are hurting me." I panted touching my bleeding lower lip.

He looked at me, his eyes clear and cold. He didn't seem affected by the kiss at all.

"Gavin why do you like me? We have never interacted much. I am even dating your ex........then why?" His voice was shriller than usual.

"Do you need a reason to like someone? If liking someone was that logical then most people in this world would have lived alone and died loveless."

"But I don't have the same feelings for you."

I mentally rolled my eyes. He kept saying those words as if he was trying to convince himself more than me.

"It doesn't matter. Who said anything about you liking me back? I like you, it's my feeling, you can't control that. It's your choice to like me back or not."

"We.....we.......are not even compatible."

"Who says? Your brain??"

"I will never like you Gav...... isn't that clear to you?"

"Crystal clear........last time you said that you 'cannot' like me back. Now it's 'you will never like me back.' Why does it sound like you are having a hell of a time to not like me back?"

"Don't use my words against me. I do not like you. Is that articulate enough for you?"

"Hmm.....but if you didn't really feel anything, why did you kiss me just now? Were you drunk? Did you imagine me to be a slut again?"

He remained quiet.

I lifted my hand and touched his chest with my palm. "Is this the reason you are trying so hard to ignore me?"

He looked at me a frown forming on his forehead. He seemed to open his mouth to say something but then stopped.

"Yes I was drunk but I heard you. At that moment nothing was making sense but now......I think I am starting to understand you a bit."

"People around me always get hurt. Even my family has no faith in me. You shouldn't get involved with me Gavin."

"But don't you get it? I am already involved with you.....whether you like it or not, I care for you."

"Gav....."

"What is the problem with your heart? Are you sick? I did notice that you didn't get tested for kidney donation for Plu and I could guess that something was wrong."
