Part Ten
"I don't mean shit to you."

"No," Jimin answered in a cold undertone. "Forget it. I won't let you pressure me."

"I don't want to put pressure on you, Jimin," Jungkook responded, furling his eyebrows. He was only concerned about the elder. Was that a bad thing now?

"Yes, you do!"

Jimin bursted into a flood of tears. As he felt embarrassed by it, he stormed out of the coffee house, leaving a completely dumbfounded Jungkook behind. Nevertheless, the younger was quick to jump to his feet and follow Jimin outside.

"Jimin, where are you going?," he wanted to know, slightly pissed, while walking after the blond man. "Why are you fighting this?"

The elder stopped dead in his tracks, which almost led to Jungkook crashing into him.

"I don't want to talk to you about this and quite frankly, I don't think I have to," Jimin explained for what felt like the hundredth time. "Just let it go already." Jungkook grasped the elder's wrist when he was about to walk away again and spun him around, so that they were able to look into each other's eyes.

Both men were sure they had stopped breathing for a moment.

"I'm begging you," Jungkook pleaded scarcely audibly. "Let me know. Let me help you."

Jimin shook his head softly. "I don't need your charity," he replied thereafter with a fairly disappointed look on his face.

"I'm sure you don't, but that still doesn't mean I care any less about you. I want to be there for you, that's all," Jungkook declared. "Is that too much to ask?"

Jimin snorted.

Then, he snapped.

"We fucked once. I don't mean shit to you," he spat out angrily, not giving a damn anymore that everyone walking on the street could hear them. "You're only doing this to silence your bad conscience. You feel guilty for what happened and now I'm your little project to make you feel better. As soon as you're certain that I'm all right again, you'll abandon me. Just like everyone else did."

"Is that the problem?," Jungkook asked, raising his brows. "You think I'll leave you?"

"Yes!"

"I thought I made it absolutely clear that leaving you was not in my interest." There was a loving smile on the younger's face which made Jimin quite soft. Jungkook brought up his hand to the blond's face and cupped his cheek softly. "You will never get rid of me again."

"Well, you're saying that now..."

"Do you want me to say it tomorrow?," Jungkook asked to raise Jimin's spirits. And he did very successfully.

Jimin dissolved into soft giggles before the brunet decided to lean in, gently putting his lips on Jimin's. There was a strange feeling forming in the pit of his stomach.

Wow, Jungkook thought.

He had given up on the thought that they would ever get this far again. In the last two weeks, Jimin had always created the impression that he wanted them to keep their distance, that he didn't want them to get as close as they had been that one time. But the way he wrapped his arms around the younger, holding on for dear life, clearly said something else.

Jimin wanted this.

He needed Jungkook.

Apparently, space really was just a word made up by someone who'd been afraid to get close.

"Jungkook," the blond mumbled after he had pulled back from the kiss, albeit grudgingly, leaving the two men panting softly. Both were leaning against each other's foreheads, their noses still touching. "I can't do this."

Jungkook sighed. He had expected this, actually, that Jimin wasn't ready. "I know."

"No. I'll tell you," the elder said, much to the younger's surprise. "Not here, though."

Jungkook nodded his head eagerly and allowed himself to be led by Jimin when they walked back to his apartment hand in hand.

The time had finally come.
