"He's such an ass. He intentionally attacked Kristy and didn't even bat an eye!" Olivia ranted, as she and Elliot walked out onto the front steps of the courthouse.
"He's a defense lawyer, Liv. He works for the scum of the Earth. So I don't even know why you'd think he wouldn't attack our rape victim. He made her so sick to her stomach that she had to run from the room and get sick." Elliot sighed. They made their way down to a coffee cart at the bottom of the many stairs, and Elliot pulled his wallet out to pay for some coffee for himself and his partner.
"Shit," Olivia grumbled, as she reached into her pocket to grab her beanie.
"What?" Elliot asked, as he grabbed the two cups of coffee and went to pass one to Olivia.
"I left my beanie inside. I'll be right back. Just wait for me in the sedan." Olivia spoke, and Elliot nodded. He watched as Olivia stomped up the stairs and her anger truly came through. He hadn't seen her this angry with a case since the first big case she had to investigate.

Olivia walked inside of the courtroom that had just been emptied, and she found her way to the bench she had been sitting on with Kristy, she knelt on the floor to look under it and look for her beanie. The door opened and she heard the defense lawyer's voice.
"Yeah, I'll be there in twenty minutes, Mom. Yes, I'll grab the cake from the bakery." Trevor sighed, as he walked towards his table. Olivia quickly tried to hide as she grabbed her beanie.
"Mom, I swear that at one point I'll bring a girl home for you and Dad to meet, but today is not the day. I haven't found anyone that likes dating defense lawyers, so I'll either have to change professions or find some girl that loves me even if I'm an ass sometimes." Trevor spoke. Olivia tried to crawl to the other side of the courtroom so that she could make a run for the door, but then she heard Trevor speak again.
"Uh, I've got to go... love you too," Trevor spoke, before ending the call. He walked from the table and over to where he had spotted Olivia. He walked around and stood in front of her before looking down at her.
"Well, well, well. Isn't it Detective Benson." He smirked, and Olivia looked up at him before standing slowly.
"I wasn't trying to snoop." She spoke.
"Sure. Trying to hear something about the case to give to Cabot?" He questioned, and Olivia eyed him as she grew angry with him again. She thought that he might be a little sweet the way that he talked to his mother, but as soon as he talked to her and opened his mouth again, it was like green scum just came out of his mouth.
"I didn't have a beanie when I came in, and I'm leaving with one. I'm not some backstabbing jerk who eavesdrops. So, see you tomorrow." Olivia huffed. She pushed past his tall frame and walked back to the door. She went to open it, but then she heard Trevor mumble something.
"God, I am a jerk."
"Trevor-" Olivia started, but he stopped her.
"You didn't hear a thing. Goodnight, Detective."

The next morning, Olivia and Elliot had to go back to court. Olivia was testifying today, which made her a little nervous. She didn't know if Trevor would be harsher now that she had seen a softer side of him. She sat in the stand after taking her oath and waited for Alex to come up and question her.
"Detective Benson, tell me about the night in question when you met Kristy Bishop," Alex questioned.
"It was the night of my birthday. My partner and I were leaving the Hudson River Bistro when Ms. Bishop stumbled from an alley. She ran right into me, and I caught her. She cried when I touched her arm and she ended up telling me that she was raped." Olivia explained.
"What exactly did she say?" Alex questioned, as she walked over to where the jury sat. She leaned against it and stared at Olivia.
"She said that a man came into the bodega she works at and he came around the counter and started to touch her. Then when she started to reach for the emergency button, and he saw and started to beat her. She explained to me that he took her out back and raped her by the trash cans before running away." Olivia spoke.
"And did she know who attacked her?"
"No, she didn't. But through the cameras in the store and a DNA test that confirmed our suspicions, that is how we found out that Mr. David Gibbs was the rapist." Olivia spoke, and Trevor rolled his eyes from where he sat. Olivia eyed him for a moment before looking back at Alex.
"Was the DNA a complete match?"
"It was. Dr. Warner ran it several times just to make sure since we didn't want to make an arrest without knowing for sure."
"Thank you, Detective Benson. No more questions." Alex spoke. She walked over and sat down at her table as Trevor stood.
"Detective Benson, are you here as the outcry witness or the detective?" Trevor questioned harshly. Olivia knew that he'd be an ass about this all, and she started to hate him even more.
"The detective. Usually, outcry witnesses don't testify because they didn't investigate it and all they did was hear what happened first." Olivia spoke.
"So why did you talk about being the outcry witness and not the detective?" Trevor asked, and Olivia rolled her eyes before shaking her head.
"Because that is what Ms. Cabot asked me about." Olivia sighed.
"Now, as a detective, were there any other people that were suspects in the supposed rape of Ms. Bishop?" He asked, and Olivia felt like screaming at him.
"Ms. Bishop was raped. The rape kit was positive and there were signs of force. And there were no other suspects because we got a match through the system for your client." Olivia replied, her voice full of sass. She hated Trevor, and she wanted him to know.
"How did you get his match through the system?" Trevor questioned, as he stood right in front of Olivia and slammed his hands against the wooden booth area. Olivia didn't jump as he had predicted.
"If you don't remember, Mr. Langan, your client was charged with stalking and attempted rape nearly four years ago. He's in the system." Olivia smirked.
