Olivia kept looking over the sketch of her engagement ring and tears welled in her eyes. Once again she tried to push someone away, but this time Trevor didn't leave. He was staying and he was staying for good. She had never had a man want to marry her, and now Trevor wants to and she wants to marry him too.

"Trevor, it's beautiful." Olivia breathed.

"Good enough for you? Or is it-"

"I love it, Trevor. Please... forgive me, baby. I hate that I yelled at you, and I'm so sorry." Olivia breathed, as she reached up and grabbed Trevor's hand and gave it a tight squeeze.

"You need to let me in, Olivia. Don't get so defensive and make me feel bad. I will love you no matter what, and I just wish-"

"I know that, Trevor. I know that. I'm just angry that I have to have surgery. I promise to not throw a fit like this again. I promise." Olivia spoke, and Trevor swallowed hard before sinking down onto a chair. He took the piece of paper back before folding it up.

"I'm still gonna propose, Liv. It's going to be perfect."

"I'll try my hardest to keep my mouth shut long enough for you to ask, instead of just screaming yes." Olivia smiled.

"Okay. Now, let's go home. Then we can figure out how we can deal with your surgery."

"I'm going to be off work for several more weeks. Maybe even months." Olivia breathed.

"Then you can come to work with me and I'll babysit you there. Then at least I'm making money."

Olivia's surgery was scheduled for the next Monday, so they didn't have a lot of time to figure out what to do. Trevor had already taken off too much time, and he wanted to have enough saved up to take at least a week-long honeymoon with Olivia. Olivia was on leave because of her injury so she didn't have to really worry about it. But Trevor did.

"Hey! What are you doing here?" Elliot exclaimed as he watched Olivia use her crutches to walk into the squad room. Trevor was waiting outside in the hall because he didn't want Elliot to say something and for that to hurt Olivia.

"I need to talk to Cragen. Uh, and I wanted to tell you that Trevor is planning on proposing to me." Olivia replied, and Elliot watched as her face lit up. It was like she completely changed when she said that.

"That's amazing, Olivia." Elliot breathed, as he tried to not show that he wasn't excited about it.

"Don't lie, El. I just thought I'd give you a warning because I'm accepting it and I'm gonna need you and Alex to be there for me."

"Benson, I heard you were on your way to talk to me?" Cragen questioned, and Olivia looked at Elliot for a moment longer before nodding.

"Yeah. Your office?" Olivia asked.

"Might as well."

Olivia sat down on one of the hard chairs before looking at her boss as he sat behind his desk.

"So, why are you here, Olivia?" Cragen questioned.

"Because I found out that I have to get surgery. I'm gonna be out for many more weeks. I might push my luck and come back to be on desk duty, but other than that I won't be able to do much." Olivia spoke.

"I wish you would have told me that you were hurt. Then you could have gotten help sooner." Cragen frowned.

"The next morning I went in, Don. And Trevor has been taking such good care of me. He won't let me do pretty much anything, because he knows how weak and tired I feel after physical therapy." Olivia replied.

"We all miss you."

"I know, and I miss you all too. But I will be back soon. I promise."

"With a different last name?" Cragen asked, and he watched as Olivia's face went bright red.

"Captain..." Olivia trailed off.

"I overheard what you said to Elliot. I'm glad that you are happy, Olivia."

"Thanks, Captain. Uh, I'm going to get back to Trevor. We have to head home and then he needs to go talk to his boss. I'll keep you updated about my surgery."

"When is it?" Cragen asked as he opened his calendar.

"Why?"

"Because I'm going to be there. Tell me the date and time. I'll keep Trevor company."

Sunday night, Olivia was admitted to the hospital and was observed all night until her surgery the next morning. The next morning, Trevor showed up and sat beside her on the bed.

"I'll be okay, baby," Olivia spoke, as she rested her head against her boyfriend's shoulder.

"I know you will be. It's just that going into surgery is a big deal. Even if it is just your leg." Trevor replied.

"My leg is a big part of my job. I do a lot of running, and I just hope that after today I can walk normally again. That I can run after bad guys and keep up with your long strides." Olivia spoke, as she smiled. Trevor reached out and brushed her hair away from her face before hugging her tightly to his side and kissing her temple.

"I have something waiting for you when you get out of surgery," Trevor spoke gently.

"Yeah? Like what? Good food because I'm already tired of what they are feeding me here." Olivia replied with a small smile on her lips. Trevor pulled something from his pocket and Olivia sat the box. He flipped it open and Olivia felt a few tears run down her cheeks when she saw the ring.

"Is this the special engagement you had planned?" Olivia laughed, as she brushed the tears from her cheeks.

"I didn't really expect you to have to get surgery. So this is as special as it can get. Especially since you will be out of commission for a while longer."

"I want to wear it now," Olivia spoke.

"You can't wear your ring during surgery. But once you are out, then you will get this ring and it will look beautiful on your hand." Trevor smiled. His smile faded though when the door opened and a few nurses came in.

"Alright, Detective! It's time to fix your knee!"

"I love you, baby. I'll see you soon." Trevor spoke as he stood and put the ring box back in his pocket.

"I love you too... Wish me luck."
