Olivia sat in a bar a few blocks away from the courthouse. She had a glass of red wine in her hand and she was trying to drink away her anger. She hated that Trevor won. She hated that the once slamdunk case was completely tossed when Trevor started to question her. Olivia settled back against the back of her stool before downing the rest of her wine.

She sat her glass down before pointing at it. The bartender poured some more wine into her glass as someone sat beside her. She looked over and wanted to scream when she saw Trevor.

"What are you doing here?" She huffed.

"You were pretty angry when you left... I wanted to make sure you were okay." Trevor spoke, and Olivia's eyes went wide.

"What? Why? You hate me." Olivia spat.

"I don't hate you. It's just that our sides are against each other. You are a cop and I'm a defense lawyer." Trevor sighed.

"No dip, Sherlock." Olivia huffed. She grabbed her wine glass and went to down it, but Trevor stopped her.

"I hate that he told me the truth. That he admitted to raping her, but I couldn't tell anyone because of the attorney-client privilege." Trevor sighed. Olivia looked at him with wide eyes.

"Kristy is going to be scared for the rest of her life because of you. Because you are an ass. Who says that he won't go after her and try to rape her again? Or kill her?" Olivia asked, and Trevor frowned.

"We can't prevent-"

"We could have prevented it. If he would have gone to jail for what he did. Trevor, I just don't understand you. I don't understand how you can be in this line of work... don't you want to do something good? Don't you want to help people?"

"I'm helping people. Unfortunately, they are bad people." He sighed.

"Great. I'm going home now. You make enough money from all of these bad people that you can cover my tab." Olivia spat before she climbed off her stool and grabbed her jacket. This time she remembered her beanie so that she didn't have to come back and see Trevor again.

Trevor really thought about what Olivia had said. He did want to help good people. He didn't just want to help bad people all the time. He was wondering why all of a sudden he felt like changing just a part of him. But he was wondering if maybe it was because of Olivia. Because he saw the good in her and wanted to be good too.

So he started to take on more pro-bono cases than he usually did. He usually only took on one once a year, but he was taking a few a month and didn't care that his paychecks were much smaller than before. He just really wanted to be different. To be good. To help.

"Alright, here are the sheets," Olivia spoke, as she handed a stack of clean sheets to a group of girls at an at-risk home she volunteers at. She turned around as the front door opened and saw Trevor walk in with a baseball cap on and a well-worn mitt under his arm.

"Trevor Langan?" Olivia asked as she shoved her hands into the back pockets of her jeans.

"Olivia Benson? What are you doing here?" He asked, as a group of the boys and a few girls came running inside as they laughed about the baseball game they just played.

"Uh, I volunteer here. I like to give back... what are you doing here?" Olivia asked, and Trevor slipped his hand off before running his fingers through his hair.

"I'm trying to be a better person. You said that I was a scumbag, so I decided to change that. I'm taking on pro-bono cases and I've been volunteering here for the last month." Trevor replied.

"There is still snow on the ground. You are just bringing those kids in covered in mud so I can wash those clothes." Olivia sighed because she didn't know what else to say. She was just shocked that he was doing something good for once.

"I can help clean it all up. Uh, where do you need my help?" He asked, and Olivia was still shocked so he followed one of the other volunteers to gather the dirty clothes.

Trevor and Olivia worked silently on the laundry as the kids ate lunch. Olivia kept her eyes down, but Trevor kept glancing at the brunette beauty beside him.

"Where'd you hear about this place?" Trevor asked, and Olivia sighed.

"I stayed here for a bit when I was younger." She replied.

"Really?" Trevor questioned.

"Yeah, really. Some of us-"

"My parents are both blue-collar workers. I lived in a small house with my four brothers and my Nana. Some of us had harder backgrounds than others." Trevor spoke, and Olivia sighed.

"I'm sorry."

"Don't apologize. I'm sorry that you were here when you were younger. At least the people here are nice."

"This place helps kids no matter what. I lucked out by being put here." Olivia replied. She looked down at the shirt she folded before sighing.

"Do you want to maybe get-"

"Trevor, I'm glad that you are changing your life and deciding to be a good person... or a better person. But we are still very much on the opposite side. And I'm already here for an hour too long. I have to go to work soon."

"Okay. Take care, Olivia."

"You too, Trevor."

During her drive to the precinct and while she was waiting for a case to come in, Olivia was still thinking about Trevor. For some reason, she kinda thought that maybe he'd be a nice person to talk too. Someone to discuss cases with when she got too tangled up in them. But then she remembered what happened during the Bishop case, and all the cases before that he had been the defense lawyer on.

"Some people just don't really change." Olivia sighed out loud, without even realizing.

"What?" Elliot asked as he looked up from the sandwich he had been focusing on.

"Oh, nothing," Olivia spoke as her cheeks grew red with embarrassment.
