This was requested a while ago, and the request was low-key confusing but I'll try and get everything in

"Hey Arch" Liz smiles walking into his room "sorry, your dad let me in"
"It's fine, it's not like I'm indecent anyways" Archie smiled grabbing his jacket
"Plus it's not like you're packing anything I havn't already seen" Liz smirked referring to their childhood

Lemme bring you up to speed

Liz and Archie grew up together, along with Jughead. They did practically everything together and knew each other inside out. They had Halloween's together and even bathed together until they were old enough to register what was happening. They were too tight knit for feelings not to develop. Archie had somehow developed feelings for his best friend, feelings he had to swallow because he knew deep down she only viewed him as a brother and nothing else. This was confirmed when Liz met Sweetpea and began dating him

Archie's heart ached at the fact that another man was making Liz happy, and that man wasn't him. He kept a close eye on Sweetpea. He saw at Cheryl's party when Sweetpea kissed Josie and it hurt him that his best friend was gushing about how good Sweetpea was being to her when he knew in fact he wasn't. Archie wanted to tell Liz about the incident but thought it would be better if it came from the horse's mouth

"That was 11 years ago at least, you don't know how much I've grown" Archie smirked back
"Can we get to the damn boxing arena before I personally knock you out" Liz laughed

Archie grabbed the keys to his truck, leading Liz to his truck all the while greeting his father on the way out  and grabbing an apple for breakfast

"You know if you don't start eating healthier you won't be able to build up muscle" Liz pointed out
"Got that coach" Archie smiled taking a bite out causing Liz to roll her eyes at her best friend

The drive to the arena was filled with laughs and loud off tune singing before the pair got ready for Archie's training session. Liz helped along with his training because he Father was an infamous boxer who she'd grown up watching train and compete. So she had picked up some tricks from him. This "extra curricular activity" didn't sit well with Sweetpea however. He felt neglected by his own girlfriend, which caused him to drink more and party much more then usual just to drown his feelings of jealousy. He'd often bring up the topic with Liz, causing a fight to break between the two over the accusation of cheating and eventually Liz would storm out and ultimately sleep over at Archie's who was happy to wipe his best friend and long time crush's tears

Sweetpea had found refugee in Josie's arms in the meantime. Of cause it ate in up knowing that he was cheating on the girl who loved him with a girl who quite frankly thought of him as a weekend special.

"Your right hook needs much more power if you're going to knock such a big giant off his high horse" Liz said striding over to a sweating, shirtless Archie. She stood in front of him, about to demonstrate what she meant before Jughead burst through the doors

"Didn't pin your for the boxing type Jug" she smirked
"Penny's back" Jughead said

Liz's blood ran cold at the name. Last time Penny was in Riverdale she'd kidnapped Liz and held her hostage for 2 weeks, torturing her, resulting in an operation and blood transfusion because of how much blood she'd lost from the cuts. Liz felt her blood rushing to her face as her breathing quickened and her legs failed underneath her causing Archie to quickly catch her

"Liz" Archie said shaking his shaking best friend
"She-she's going to-to get me-
"Over my dead body!" Archie yelled "we need to devise a plan now Jug"

**at Riverdale High***

It had been 2 weeks since Jughead ultimately announced Penny's return. The gang had returned to school and were currently in one of the class room's discussing the death threat Jug had received. Liz noticed how Sweetpea and Josie would occasionally look at each other with lingering gazes which made her blood boil a little bit

"I think we need to stalk out the woods tonight we're Jug has to meet Penny" Cheryl said
"Yeah, just in case she tries anything" Betty agreed
"Okay so pairs it is" Jughead announced
"I'll go with Liz" Archie said quickly
"I'll go with Josie then" Sweetpea said

Liz cocked an eyebrow
"I mean Veronica was going to go with you" Liz said
"I was going with-
"Why Josie all of a sudden Pea?" Liz asked
"N-nothing special" Sweetpea said
"You're sweating like a dog- out with it Sweetpea!" Liz said more sternly
"It's really nothi-
"Bullshit!" Archie cut in "Liz I'm sorry but Sweetpea kissed Josie at Cheryl's party, I wouldn't be shocked if they had something going on"

Liz looked at Sweetpea, searching for a trace of "he's talking shit" in Sweetpea. When she found none she grabbed her bags and stormed out, Sweetpea running after her. He grabbed her wrist only for Liz to snatch it back and slap him across the face

"Don't talk to me- ever again!" She said through tears
