Manik and Mukti quickly made their way to the hallway of Nanu's room, to find a much lighter atmosphere, compared to when they had left.
Shivay and Abhi were talking to each other, maybe reminiscing about their countless memories with Nanu, as one could tell by their nostalgic smiles.
Rudra, Sammy and Anika were also sitting on the bench, Rudra happily gulping down his protein shake as Anika and Sammy were high-fiving.
Nandini was still sitting on the floor, with Raichand and Malik besides her and Rishab's head on her lap, she was looking better now, having been force-fed a sandwich by her best friends, her eyes were twinkling again, Manik observed with happiness.
It was as if a bulb went off somewhere, and Nandini suddenly jerked up in Manik's direction.
Manik stood up straighter, a bit worried of her reaction.
But there was something different in her eyes...guilt? Remorse?
He couldn't pinpoint what it was exactly, but before he could bring himself to ask, Nandini herself came walking towards him, his eyes widening.
He looked at Mukti with the same wide eyes, as Mukti chuckled and shook her head, and then looked back to where Nandini was sitting before, only to be met with glares from Malik and a lazy smirk from Raichand.

Manik rolled his eyes, Ayan was glaring at him, that meant everything was normal.
"Manik, can I...uh...speak to you?"
Nandini said nervously, looking here and there.
Manik quirked his eyes in confusion, this was new for Nandini Oberoi, she hardly ever looked nervous these days.
"I'll leave you guys alone!"
Mukti said, a bit too enthusiastically, winking at Manik on her way out.
"What's up?"
Manik asked casually, determined not to let his urgency show.
"I wanted to apologize, for Rishab."
Nandini said sincerely, she really did mean it.
Manik raised his eyebrows, clearly not expecting this.
"Nandini, of all people, you really shouldn't be the one apologizing to me."
Manik stated clearly, looking bewildered at the thought.
