Red flags part one

So basically this chapter is about red flags too look out for in stories in so you don't end wasting your time and 5-10 chapters in just up and abandoned it because it's just to cliche or shit

So let's get started shall we?

First things first look for when it was  last updated and how many chapters have been published for example
if the story is over a year old and there's     5-15 chapters it's most likely abandoned (unless it's a short story) so you're literally going invest your time into a story that's going to leave you disappointed because But do check the authors profile in case they're on break ,moved to a different site or there's sequels

Honestly if they have :
******** X suicidal reader
********X depressed reader
********X self harming reader
Don't even waste your time they'll be cliche and dumb asf 9 times out of ten they just mock mental health

If you've seen the plot in another book but the characters names are just changed like for example
"Hey I'm Emma of the Cresant moon pack and everyone hates me because I'm an omega this year I went to the  ball to find my mate who shockingly turns out to be the evil alpha Zander from the blood moon pack the most feared in the world "
There's a big chance you've read this story and abandoned it but the names and authors were different

Bringing me onto
" hi I'm basic bitch and everyone hates me " yeah that there is a set up for a cliche shit show

If you have 3 of these Cliche red flags ⛳️ In the first two chapters

-If the basic bitch is bullied/abused in first chapter but than it's like it never happened  in the next

-When the main character is like 16 in high school but has the intelligence of a ten year old like seriously if talks and acts "innocent" but comes off as your brat cousin literally take that shit your library

- pictures of the main characters, houses, food and clothes in the first chapter

-if the character is too nice or she's poor but can afford unrealistic shit

- the words "mouth watering" "geek god" "thrust" "our tongues fought for dominance" "im not like other girls "and if they over use "smirk "and "blush"

- the MC whole characters personally changes in the space of a chapter

-if the guy magically knows she's a virgin (god that's so annoying)

- if everyone hates her and she's bullied by the whole school for no reason

(I'll add more when I can think of them)

If the basic bitch is a modern day girl living in country like America or England and she's in an arranged marriage

If it's a fanfic about a character from a show or a movie but their personality or they way they act isn't even close to the said character just stop reading because if you're like me you'll just get pissed off they're making a tit out of your favourite character

Which brings me to the last red flag of chapter one because as I've found it's the best way to avoid cliche and down right boring stories

So instead of looking at how many reads a story has or look at how many stars it gotten because if the story has a million reads and one thousand stars it means it's not that good it's just been around a while but if a story has one thousand reads and say 200 stars it means it going to be good I know it sounds silly but it works

So that's the end of chapter one
Next chapter is arranged marriages
Than maybe part two unless I get another suggestion

That's so cliche Where stories live. Discover now
