So I've noticed in a lot of stories that age isn't really important....yes it is especially in dark or mature stories it gets uncomfortable sometimes reading about a 16 year old girl having a sexual relationship with a 20 year old guy
The main ages for girls are always between 16-19 like honestly y'all will have 18/19 year olds as doctors FBI agents CEOs and lawyers 🤣 that's so unrealistic with those kinda jobs you wouldn't even be passed the training or have the degree to even qualify at 18 years old have the mc at least in her 20s
Also the mc at at 16/17 is always so immature and innocent she won't know about the most common things like bitch once you hit high school and get an iPhone you know what's what in the world (well you've a good idea 🙃)
The main boy is usually 17-20
He's ether running the mafia driving a Mercedes or a CEO of the worlds biggest company he'll be a master at sex and know everything their is about how to seduce a woman like honestly I'm not gonna even ask you do you know guys like this because you don't ether does google because they don't exist 🤷🏾♀️ have REALISTIC looks jobs and personalities for boys that age to make the story so what believable
And basic background characters ages
Kids will ether be 6-8 but act 2
Expect our mc parents they'll be no one from 30-60
And old people who are usually racially stereotyped 🙄 or always one step away from deaths door
Age does matter in stories a lot of 18+ readers will not read a mature story
You shouldn't have young characters under 18 involved in dark sexual relationships it makes people feel uncomfortable
As I said with jobs and personalities age plays a big factor in making the story believable you honestly expect people to believe a 16 year old girls parents will let her go on Tour with one direction ,leave her move away have a relationship with a 20 year old or move in with him
Because realistically your stalker zander would be arrested or get an ass whooping off your mom
So put the same amount of thought about the ages of characters the same way you with your long ass coffee orders y'all with always have the mc order 🤷🏾♀️😂
