"Mama I do not want to go. Every time I go in there they try to find a new story to makeup. I already go to church every Sunday" I say

"Chase Stevens I do not care! You will go in there and put on a long sleeve shirt and come out and get in that car" I rolled my eyes and stomped towards my daddy's office

"Daddy" I whine

"No Ladybug if I have to go then you have to go. Maybe you can sing for us" My daddy say making me smack my lips and walk off

I walked upstairs and grabbed my coat before putting it on.

I go to to the front door and of course my mama had to open her mouth "heels would have been nice" I smiled and stood at that door

I'm the black sheep. I like music but not gospel and that's bad I guess. My parents own one of the most popular churches in Illinois most of them reside in Chicago. Although the state isn't so nice they seem to hangout with the most uppity people ever. I'm a rebel I got hella tattoos, colored hair, and everything else. I get in trouble a lot and I don't care. The Preacher Kid thing is played out.

I sat in the backseat as my dad pulled off. "Do you think you want to teach the little saints today"

Fuck no. "No ma'am"

"Why don't you want to be involved anymore? You don't want to sing or anything" My mama say

"I don't like it" I say "Daddy tell her I'm good"

"Everybody just hush. I don't understand why everyone just can't do whatever they want to do" my daddy say making me smile

"I'm her mother! She's going to listen" I threw my head back

"Mom can I get another tattoo" I ask just to piss her off

"Go right ahead! You'll do it anyway" My mother say "your body is your temple"

"I know but I just want to make it cuter than what it already is" I say

Easy to get out of church so that wasn't even my problem.

"Earl is going to be so excited to see you" I rolled my eyes

Everyone thinks we're going to end up together. He even believes it but I promise it's not happening. He's a church boy and it's nothing wrong with that but he's too nice. He allows me to run all over him and I don't like that.

"He sees me every Sunday" I say putting my AirPods in

We got to the church and I automatically felt out of place. I grew up here and I can tell you the bible forward and backwards but I rather not come here.

I took a seat and watched everyone mingle "Hey Chase"

"Hey Earl" I smile and I guess that meant take a seat

"How are you" Earl ask

"Bored. I don't want to be here" I say "I'm sure you already know that"

"I get the vibe. We can sing together like we use to" Earl say

"Tell my mom I said no" I roll my eyes and walking away
