EIGHTEEN

It was raining really hard, and I just got inside. I was walking through the school hallways towards my locker when I saw Maddie running towards me.

"Jay!" She yells.

"Oh, are you okay?" She asks me. I quickly faked a smile and nodded.

"What's up?" I ask.

"I planned a girls night tonight, and you're coming too!" She happily announced. I remember Mike telling me about this Halloween pre party that started tonight, but I definitely did not want to go there.

"Okay" I tell her. She happily hugged me and ran off.

"See you tonight!" She yells.

"I don't remember inviting her" Mike says. I look to my left to see him staring at her.

"It's about a girls night" I say as I walk on.

"No way! You're coming to the pre party tonight" Mike says as he crosses his arms.

"No. I'm always at those stupid parties, let me have a girls night too" I defend.

"I'm so telling Jake" Mike joked.

"Get lost, Mike" I sigh

It was raining hard, and I was waiting inside before the rain stopped. I heard someone stop walking behind me, but I decided to not look.

"Why are you not going to the party tonight?" I recognized Jake's voice. I ignored it since I couldn't accept his words the other day.

"Alright then" Jake sighs as he walked towards the door, put on his hoodie and ran outside.

At around 6pm I was doing homework. I couldn't focus though, because I kept getting texts and calls from both the boys and the girls. Well I mean,

All the boys, except for Jake.

So I knew for sure that I wasn't going there. And at this point I had been thinking about not going to the girls night. I mean, I love girls nights and all, but these girls know nothing about me.

And I prefer not telling them. I was gonna be home alone tonight if I chose to not go. And I couldn't stop thinking about Luke. What if he decides to come look me up? But hey, if I would go to the girls, he probably won't come, or even if he would, we would be with the four of us.

I closed my book and started getting ready.

A second after I arrived, I regretted my choice a lot. Not only did I not want to be with these girls now, but I was also maybe putting them in danger. I was in thoughts when Maddie opened the door and let me in.

"You made it!" She happily cheered. I smiled at her and walked in, greeting Jessy and Kimberley.

"Surprising that you didn't go to the pre party" Jessy said with kind of a sassy tone.

"Excuse me?" I raised my brow at her.

"I mean, we're all glad you're here" she faked a smile. I look  over at Kimberley. She angrily stared at Jessy.

"Don't mind her, she got rejected by Daniel yesterday" Maddie explains. Jessy opened her mouth to say something, when Kimberley shut her up.

"Alright let's start playing games!" She happily offered. I angrily dropped my bag and sat on the ground.

"Who wants cookies?" Maddie asks. Nobody answers which made her sit down next to us.

"Okay what will we play?" Kim asks.
