TWENTY SIX

Daniel couldn't stop the car in time, causing a crash.

"Fuck" Daniel groans as we both immediately got out of the car to look at the victim. I kneel down, so does Daniel.

"U-uh" I stutter.

"Is that Luke?" Daniel whispers. I nod in panic as my breathing became heavier.

"He's not dead, is he?" I ask him.

"Not that I care" Daniel shrugs but slapped him in his face.

"Time to wake up buddy" he says while slapping harder, causing him to open his eyes, and stare at me. My heart started skipping beats as he tried standing up.

"Jay, come here" Daniel commands. I quickly stood up and ran towards Daniel, standing very close behind him and observing Luke. It was so fucking dark in here, I was so scared.

"What the fuck is your problem?!" Luke starts yelling.

"Sorry dude, why would you walk here anyway? It's like you asked to get run over" Daniel defends.

"I heard Jayde's voice" Luke calmed down, making me hd on to Daniel real hard.

"So what?" Daniel asks Luke.

"Are you her new boyfriend? She never stops that slutty behavior" Luke chuckles.

"Shut the fuck up!" I suddenly yell at him, pushing Daniel away.

"I'd watch your words" Daniel calmly tells Luke as he walks back to me and holds me back.

"Or else?" Luke angrily asks Daniel.

"Just warning you, cross the line and you'll see what's next" Daniel tells Luke.

"I ain't scared of you pussies" Luke scoffs.

"Oh, you're not?" Daniel chuckles.

"Come near Jayde one more time,  I'll fuck you up with my bare hands. This is your final warning" Daniel says as he pushes me towards the passenger seat.

"Get in" Daniel tells me. I quickly got in, so did he, while I watch Luke disappear.

"He's walking towards where he came from" I tell Daniel in confusion.

"I couldn't give two fucks" Daniel calmly tells me while backing the car up.

"This didn't go as I planned" I sigh.

"Who cares? The guy got his final warning" Daniel says while having his eyes glued to the road.

"You're too sweet. He probably isn't even scared. Thanks though" I smile, making Daniel laugh.

"I might look sweet. Once someone messes with me I'm not that sweet, I'm just a calm person" Daniel explains. A lot calmer than Jake actually. Jake might've killed Luke. Speaking of..

"We're not gonna tell anyone about this, right?" I uncomfortably ask Daniel.

"No, what do you want to do? It's only 9:20pm. It's too early for you to head home since your parents think that we're at the mall" Daniel says.

"Your call" I answer.

"Let's go eat something" Daniel suggests.

After going through the McDrive, we were eating McDonald's in Daniel's car in the parking lot.

"Can I ask you a question?" I ask Daniel. He stops sipping his drink out of his straw to nod at me, looking worried.

"Is there something wrong with me?" I ask. Daniel tilts his head while furrowing his brows.

"Why do you ask this?" Daniel chuckles.
