Chapter 8: Freddie

Lilly and Roger called us all over to their house to share some big news with us. When they told us they were pregnant, we almost didn't believe them since Rory had just announced her pregnancy. When they showed us proof, however, we were all really happy for them, especially me. I couldn't wait to take Lilly out shopping for baby things. While we were at their house, Jim seemed like he was starting to get antsy.

"Darling, what's going on with you?" I asked him.

"I can't take it anymore," Jim said. "Lilly, I don't mean to steal your thunder, but I can't wait any longer."

"Go for it," Lilly said with a big smile. What was she so happy about?

"Ok," Jim said, turning to me.

"What's going on?" I asked him.

"Freddie I love you," Jim said. "Seeing Lilly and Roger so happy now that their expecting makes me think... well I want to be that happy. I want to be with you forever, Freddie." Jim pulled a ring out of his pocket and I gasped as he took my hand. "Marry me?" I smiled happily and just nodded. Jim kissed me passionately while some of our friends cheered.

"How sweet," Lucy said. "I'm so happy for you two!"

"Me too," Lilly said. "This was a good choice, Jim." Jim smiled while I kissed him again. I had to stop myself from taking it further in front of all my friends. I was just so happy, I couldn't pull myself away from him.

"Jesus, get a room you two!" Winter joked.

"Oh I think it's sweet," Ben said. "Makes me want to get married." He looked over at Joe who chuckled softly.

"Yeah," Joe said. "Wouldn't that be great?"

"So let's do it," Ben said. "Let's get married." Joe's eyes widened as he looked over at Ben.

"I thought you were kidding," Joe said.

"What if I wasn't?" Ben asked. Joe swallowed hard and looked at Ben. "What do you say?" Ben asked. "Do you want to get married. Joe sighed and looked down before answering,

"No."
