"Ella!" I heard Gwilym called from downstairs. "Come here!" I walked downstairs and saw his towering figure standing at the kitchen counter. He was taller than the average person and I was tiny, so I barely made it up to his chest.
"What's going on?" I asked him.
"We're going on a trip," he said with a smile.
"Where to?" I asked him.
"London," he said, holding up two plane tickets.
"What?" I said happily. "What's the occasion?"
"Valentine's Day is in two days," Gwilym said. "We're leaving early tomorrow morning. Between the long flight and the time difference, it'll be really late when we get there, but we'll wake up on Valentine's Day right across from Buckingham Palace."
"That sounds amazing," I said. "But I can't just take off and leave right now. I have a job to do!"
"I talked to all the Venus girls," Gwilym said. "They're all busy this week. Lilly and Roger are having a mellow Valentine's Day because she's pregnant, and Rory and Winter are throwing some single girls Valentine's thing."
"Galentine's Day?" I said. "That's February 13th. It's not even on Valentine's Day, and it's not just for single girls, it's a day for girlfriends to celebrate each other. Lilly's probably going to that."
"Well whatever they're doing," he said. "All three of them are fine with us going. We'll be back on Sunday anyway. We won't even be gone a week."
"Why are we going on a trip all of the sudden?" I asked him. He just smiled and came over to me, leaning down to kiss my head.
"You ask too many questions, my love," he said. "Let's go pack." I groaned and rolled my eyes following him upstairs.
The next day, we got on our way too early flight to London. We watched a few movies and I ended up falling on his shoulder for a few hours. When the plane landed, I was still exhausted. I barely made it through baggage claim and back to our hotel before I passed out on the bed. The next morning, Gwilym woke me up around 10am, much to my dismay since it was 2am in Los Angeles.
"We have places to be my love," he said. "Come on, let's go get breakfast." I whined about getting out of bed but agreed.
Despite the fact that I was exhausted, I had a great day with Gwilym. We have breakfast at a little tea shop right down the street from our Hotel. Rami and Lucy ended up meeting us there, which was great because I haven't seen them since New Year's. We then spent the day touring London before we ended up in a beautiful garden right outside Kensington Palace.
"This place is beautiful," I said. "There's a ton of birds though."
"Yeah we have a lot of geese and swans in England," Gwilym said with a light laugh. "I'm not sure why." He suddenly stopped right in front of a fountain and looked at me.
"Why did you stop walking?" I asked him.
"This is the perfect spot," he said quietly to himself.
"What are you talking about?" I asked him. "Perfect spot for what?" Gwilym just smiled and got down on one knee, pulling a ring out of his pocket.
"Marry me, Ella," he said.
"Oh my God," I said under my breath. "Is this really happening?"
"It is," he said with a small laugh. "What do you say." I looked over at him and sighed before saying,
"I have to think about it."
