" I've tried everything, I don't know why I'm yet to get pregnant. My mom in law is really on my case you know." Hajara said sadly when she got no reply, she turned her gaze to Nnadia who was busy smiling at empty space.

" Nnadia, what's wrong with you. Are you alright?" Hajara asked, clicking her fingers in front of her face.

Still smiling, Nnadia who hasn't even been paying attention turned and shook her head.

" No. What were you saying?" She asked back.

" Forget it. But tell me why are you smiling like that, is there something I should know?" Hajara enquired.

Looking here and there, Nnadia blushed hard.

" I don't know babe, I feel silly just thinking about it," Nnadia replied.

" Why? What's wrong." Hajara asked her.

" Well, my husband has been behaving very naughty these days." She said biting her lips and blushing.

Her friend was looking at her speculatively.

" Give me details. Right now." Hajara demanded anxiously.

Smiling more and playing with her fingers, Nnadia explained.

" He has been going to my office every day, and he never misses a chance to kiss or romance with me. I was so angry with him at first but whenever I see him, I just melt like butter. I can't control myself or my feelings for him anymore, I want to go back home with him." She finished.

" See, I told you that both of you were in love long since. So what did you do? I mean did you show him how naughty you can be too?" Hajara teased.

Covering her face with her hands, Nnadia blushed.

" No. I'm just too shy around him." She replied.

" You silly girl." Hajara paused, shaking her head. " Just tell him how you feel and ask him to come take you home. That's your husband for crying out loud, he will come running for sure. You don't act like someone who was brought up in Freetown at all." Hajara told her seriously.

After contemplating for a moment, Nnadia reached for her phone.

" You're right, I'm going to start behaving like his wife properly." She said, nervously dialing his number. Abdullah picked on the first ring.

" Hi, my queen, missing me? I was just about to call you." He informed her.

" Hi." Nnadia managed to say, almost tongue-tied. Hajara made hand gestures to her, for her to speak up but she couldn't.

" How was your day?" He asked.

" Um, er... Fine." She stuttered. Hajara face palmed herself hopelessly.

" Look Wifey, I have to travel urgently and my flight leaves tonight. I'm just about to put a few things together and then leave." He informed her, and the blood drained from Nnadia's face instantly as he spoke. She couldn't believe it. Every time she had tried coming close, he always found a way to put distance between them.

" You are leaving me again?" She asked almost in tears.

" No. It's just for a few..." But Nnadia didn't allow him to finish when she hung up in anger. She threw the phone on the bed and started sobbing quietly. Hajara who witnessed it all came over to where she stood and hugged her.

" Come on, don't cry. Just try to understand him. You can still go see him before he travels. I mean if you tell him that you're going back home I'm sure he would be thrilled and that would make him come back sooner." Hajara said to her.
