" You should've seen the place, it was very nice and the scenery was breathtaking. Everything screamed of romance. I'm sure that you would've loved it." Nnadia said, telling Hajara about some of the places she visited in France.

" Okay," Hajara replied absentmindedly.

Nnadia studied her friend for some time. She quickly sensed that something was wrong, if not Hajara would've been squeezing the details of the trip out of her.

" Spill. Whatever is wrong, I want to know about it right now." Nnadia demanded.

" No.. nothing." Hajara stuttered.

" Seriously? You're stuttering and you expect me to believe you. Don't we share everything?" Nnadia asked again.

Hajara was now teary-eyed. " I can't have kids." She exploded with more tears.

" What. But how? Who told you that?" Nnadia enquired. Her heart raced with worry. She hated to see her best friend cry.

" We went for some tests since my mother in law is always on my case. Turns out that I have fertility issues and can't get pregnant unless I get help. My in-laws taunt me every chance they get and my husband is changing by the day. And they're right you know. Look at you, now four months pregnant. I've been married for two years with nothing to show." Hajara sobbed.

" Please stop crying, there's still hope. You can travel abroad for fertility treatment. I mean their health sector is way above ours. As for your husband, maybe he is just sulking but believe me when I say that he loves you." Nnadia explained to her soothingly. She sat close to her and wiped her tears.

" You don't get it, do you? We can't afford it. What man would stay with a woman who can't give him a child?" Hajara cried.

" Hush... God will take control. And I'm here for you. I will take care of all the finance involved, don't worry." Nnadia coaxed.

" Nnadia. I won't allow you to spend that kind of money on me. I heard that it costs thousands of dollars, and what will you tell your husband?" Hajara asked anxiously.

" Tell her husband what? And why are you crying, is something wrong?" Abdullah asked. Nnadia wanted to distract him from knowing but Hajara explained everything because she didn't want her friend to lie for her sake.

" I have a doctor friend in Florida, I'll send you guys to him. You can get fertility treatment and if the case calls for it, even IVF. Please give me your husband's contact, I'll explain everything to him myself." Abdullah told her quietly.

" We can't afford it, Abdullah." Hajara tried to explain.

" I'll take care of everything Insha Allah. You're very close to Nnadia's heart, which means you're closer to mine." Abdullah told her kindly.

" I'll never forget this, thank you very much," Hajara said smiling.

" Don't mention," Abdullah replied. Nnadia was busy smiling with tears in her eyes.

" Nnadia, please thank your husband for me," Hajara said to her.

" It's okay. I know that God will definitely help you." Nnadia said, hugging her friend. Abdullah smiled at them.

" I bought you that thing that you love so much. It's in the kitchen." Abdullah said to Nnadia, making a face.

" What thing?" Nnadia asked, raising her brow.

" The green mango with lime, pepper and fish sauce that you like so much," Abdullah explained. He didn't like it that Nnadia loves eating it, but that is the only food that she hasn't turned down since her first month of pregnancy. So he buys it for her always.
