It's been one month since Abdullah traveled to England. Their love and fondness of each other grew by the second. They would call each other multiple times a day. The only problem they had was distance and he had begged her to be patient for one more week.

During the past month, Nnadia had submitted her resignation letter and she shopped extensively for her home.

The previous night, she hardly got any sleep because of painful cramps. In the morning, she had woken up to shower when she felt nauseous, she threw up all she ate the day before. After taking her shower, Nnadia dressed up and went to meet her parents, who were waiting for her because they had to attend the naming ceremony of their neighbor whose wife just gave birth a week ago.

" Good morning Baba, morning mom," Nnadia said smiling as she walked up to her parents.

Her dad beamed at her and replied, but her mom looked at her worriedly.

" You look very pale my child, is everything alright?" She asked, concerned, lacing through her voice.

" Yes mom, I just feel a little bit of cramps, I think my friend is due anytime soon." She replied.

" Oh. Okay then." Her mom said quickly.

Nnadia then realized that she was a  bit late because the month had already ended but she didn't see her period. It was only now that it's showing signs of coming through cramps. She shook it off because it was normal to be late sometimes.

" If you ladies are done talking, let's get going. Salma please take care of the house and Nnadia I heard from your mom that you quit your job. Why?" Her dad said.

" Um, I... I just want to take some time for myself and then I would be opening my own charity organization that will help orphans across the entire country." Nnadia told her dad. She wasn't ready to admit to her parents that the other reason is her marriage.

" Okay, charity is good but my dear don't go wasting your husband's wealth when you know you don't want to forgive him and continue your marriage. Before withdrawing such large amounts, please ask him first." Her dad advised.

Smiling inwardly, ' if only you knew dad. Nnadia thought to herself. She wasn't going to spill the beans, she would wait until one week from now when her husband comes to take her.

When they reached the event, the elders took a seat. Nnadia, being among the young women in the community, went to help the others in serving the food. By the time they had served half the guest, she was feeling dizzy and very tired. She recalled that she hadn't eaten anything before leaving the house and the smell of the jollof rice in the plate in front of her only made her more nauseous. She continued to work thinking that it would pass but the feeling just kept on growing, so she finally passed out with a plate in her hands.

" Nnadia." She heard her mom scream before blacking out for good.

When Nnadia woke up, she was in a hospital and her parents were both standing to gaze at her, they looked really scared and her mom had tears in her eyes.

" Mom, please don't cry, I guess I just got tired and fainted," Nnadia spoke soothingly.

" Ever since I gave birth to you, when have you just gotten tired and fainted. Look, if you are feeling any pains please tell me, my child. I don't want anything bad to happen to you. I'll just die, you hear me." Her mom sobbed. She glanced at her dad and he also looked like someone about to cry.

" The nurse told me that your daughter has regained consciousness." The doctor said walking into the room with his team.

" I'm going to take her blood sample and run some quick tests. Let her just relax until her drip ends and please give her some food." He added.
