Chapter 32

Crystal's POV

I wrapped my coat around Melody as we ran outside into the cold rain. I clutched my side, and felt something wet there.

I lifted my hand up, and a tear ran down my face as I realised that it was blood.

I held Melody close as I ran out into the rain, not caring about myself. I just want Melody to be safe, that's the priority.

My waist started to sting as the cold rain hit it, causing me to wince. But I needed to get somewhere.

Who lives the closest?

I stop under a bus stop, and check on Melody. She is awake, but she is fine.

My coat is stained with my blood, but I don't care.

Jordan lives the closest, I guess I'll head there. I continue to run, holding Melody close to me so none of the rain hits her.

I ran into the reception area of his place. The receptionist gave me a look of concern, seeing the blood and my child.

"Are you alright?"

I nodded.

"I'm fine, can I see Jordan Maron?"

"Of course."

I went through the door, and headed to the lift that lead to Jordan's condo.

The lift started to elevate, and I broke down into tears again. The events of today rushed through my mind once again.

He promised that he would never hurt me.

I looked down at Melody, and she returned my look, I kissed her on the forehead.

The doors opened, and I headed to Jordan's front door. I knocked, it took a couple of minutes for him to answer.

He opened the door, and his face instantly turned concerned and scared.

"Crystal! Are you alright?!"

I calmly nodded, and he let me inside. Jordan took Melody and placed her on the sofa, next to the greater so she will be warm.

It was then I broke down into tears.

Jordan gave Melody a toy, and then instantly ran over to help me. He grabbed a towel from his bathroom and placed it over my shoulders.

"What Happened? Where's Harvey?"

He sat me down on the sofa, and grabbed some tissue from the kitchen, he poured it under some water, and squeezed it.

He headed back over to me, and lifted my top up slightly, revealing my wound.

"What did this?"

I looked at Jordan, his brown eyes were full of concern and worry.

"Harvey"

Jordan slapped his hand over his mouth, and I felt tears coming into my eyes once again.

Jordan cleaned the wound, and grabbed a bandage from the first aid kit he had placed conveniently nearby.

He wrapped it around my stomach, but the side instantly became soaked with blood.

Jordan hugged me, and I calmed down. I let out a deep breath.

"What happened?" Jordan asked calmly.

"This morning, Harvey said he was going out to meet a 'friend', and I had said that I would be going to the same place to show Melody off to somebody.

But when I got there, Harvey and the 'friend' were kissing."

"WHAT!?"

I let out a deep breath, and calmed Jordan down. I then continued.

"I stormed out, and fell asleep when I got home. When I woke up, I heard Harvey calming Melody down, and then he headed downstairs, so I followed him, and asked him questions.

He tried to explain, but he got angry while doing it, and his magic escaped. He pinned me to the wall at one point but I managed to escape.

I tried to calm him down, but his magic threw me back and I hit my side on the table.

It was then I took Melody and ran. Now here I am."

Jordan hugged me, and I hugged back, instantly feeling calmer.

"I was so scared."

Jordan pulled away and looked at me.

"I bet you were... you can stay here for as long as you want Crystal, until you decide to go home."

I nodded, and he stood up and walked away, probably to get something. I walked over to where Melody was, and unwrapped her from my coat.

I felt her cheeks, and they were warm. That's good.

I sat down and placed her on my knee.

"I'm so sorry sweetheart. I don't know what we're going to do. Daddy is just being silly. But Mummy will never do that."

Her hands squeezed my fingers, and I kissed her on top of her head.

"I love you Melody, don't forget that."

Melody looked up at me, her hazel eyes meeting mine, and a grim appearing on her face.

It was then I noticed something strange...

"Jordan?" I shouted, Jordan came in about 5 seconds later, holding a blanket.

"Yeah?" He asked, wearing the blanket around me to keep me warm.

"Is that what I think it is?" I asked, grinning. I tickled Melody and she opened her mouth to giggle again.

Jordan admitted his hand over his mouth, and looked at me.

"Her first tooth."

I nodded and looked at the little white spot that had appeared on her gums. I sighed.

Harvey was supposed to be here when we found it. Why did he have to mess it up?
