Chapter 41

Mystery's POV

I walked up behind the girl, who was on the computer. She seemed to be talking to someone.

"Mystery?" I heard come from the computer.

Huh, how does this guy know me? The agents had told me that I knew these people, is this the girl's husband?

She turned to face me, such and surprise on her face as she looked at

me.

I ignored the screaming voice inside of my head, telling me to stop, and swung the weapon that was in my hand.

I cringed as the bat made impact with her head, and knocked her out instantly.

I looked up at the computer, and the man stared at me, shock on his face as he realised what I'd done.

I'd just knocked out his wife and is about to steal their daughter...

But these people are dangerous, even though they don't seem to be, but it's for the greater good right?

I turned and walked out of the room, heading in the direction of what was obviously the baby's room.

I opened the door, and peeked inside. The child was asleep, so she wouldn't struggle when I got her.

I carefully picked up the child, wary of the fact that she is very dangerous and could hurt me.

She had little pink headphones on her head, weird...

I decided to leave them on, and get out of there. I quickly walked down the stairs, and headed into my car where the FBI had put a baby seat in specifically.

I walked along the forest area leading to the hidden base, the tiny human in my arms.

"Maaaaa?"

I looked down to find the infant looking up at me, her big hazel eyes meeting mine.

She had her mother's eyes, the ones I had looked into before I knocked her out.

I shook my head, and carried on walking.

The baby realised that I wasn't her mother, and started to become scared, and whimpering.

Suddenly, she stopped and closed her eyes, I stopped where I was and looked down at her.

A purple mist started to appear on her hand, and she opened her eyes and looked at it. Mesmerized by it.

She put her hands to my chest, and a warmth entered it, I felt it rising up to my head.

Then it all clicked in, I started to remember everything. Getting kidnapped, the experiments, everything.

I opened my eyes again, and looked down at the infant. Melody.

Wait... I just stole my friend's baby. I just knocked Crystal out, oh God, oh no.

I hadn't seen Melody before, I was kidnapped the day Crystal went into labour with her.

This child looks about 6 months old.

Oh my God, if I've been gone for 6 months, what has happened to Jason?! Is Jason alright?

I was interrupted by the sound of footsteps approaching me. I looked up to find agents heading towards me.

Oh no.

I held Melody closer into me, and turned away, protecting her. This is my fault, I don't want the FBI to have Melody.

Melody started to cry as she sensed my fear. I needed to get away somehow.
