Riko's POV

Another day of another year. I wish for this day to end quickly. I want to go home and immerse myself in my music. At least that's what I used to think.

I plopped myself onto my desk as I arrived onto my work space.

"Is something wrong?" My coworker asked who seats just across mine, has ash hair and blue eyes.

"No, nothing's wrong." I answered back with a small smile.

"If you say so..." She looked back to her computer and continued typing her work. Her full attention at the computer and me just burying myself into my arms.

Then I heard a sound from the computer before me. I looked up to see what it was.

"Ah!" I exclaimed. It was a message! Let's see, let's see...

It says,

Hi Riko-chan! It's been awhile! I'll be coming over tomorrow at your house. Sorry, if it's on short notice. Anyways, I'll be around your area for a few years. And I think you wouldn't mind me staying with you during that time... I'll see you in a bit!

from Chika Takami

'Chika-chan!?' I almost wanted to shout it out but I'm in my workplace so I had to hold back. I covered my mouth in shock. My face red from excitement and... tears were forming?

"Are you really okay, Riko-san?" The person who asked the same question earlier moved back from her desk and came to check out my being.

"Yes, I'm fine, really, You-san." I said with a smile but I couldn't escape with tears on my eyes.

She went near me and put a palm on my forehead. I think she was checking if I'm sick or not. Then, stepped backward and gave a relieved sigh with her hand on her chest.

"You're good. You shocked me. I see you crying and I think you're in pain. So, what is it really?" She asked as she put a hand over her hips.

"Oh, that. A friend just emailed me and said they're coming over." I looked up to her while smiling and wiping my tears off.

"I see, well then have fun." She waved me off as she made her way back to her desk.

"Thanks for worrying, You-san." i said my gratitude and then I psyched myself to finish my work today early. While I'm at it, let's also do my work for tomorrow so that I don't need to come here tomorrow.

'Let's do this!' Then I worked my butt off to finish work. Did everything I could in a short amount of time.

Time skip to tomorrow....

"Hmmm" I stretched my arms up in the air. "What a nice morning!" I jumped off my bed and headed over to the living room which made me put a hand over my mouth.

"C-Chika-chan!" I exclaimed which woke up the person being called, who was sleeping on the couch.

"Fuweeh?" She quickly sat up from the sudden noise and was rubbing her eyes to wake herself up.

"Oh, hi Riko-chan." She noticed my presence and waved a hand at me while giving me a smile which made my blood rush to my cheeks.

"I-I thought you were coming here today!" I started back on the problem at hand.

"I did, I just arrived really early." She explained while bringing her shoulders up.

"Still! How could you surprise me like this....? You already surprised me with yesterdays email..." I mumbled and put my hand over my elbow.

"Don't mind the small stuff. At least, I'm not staying at any random place." She walked to me and patted my head.

"You're always like this, ever since back then." I took her hand off my head and gave a relaxed smile.

"You could've just slept on my bed, why did you sleep on the couch? Isn't that uncomfortable?" I asked, still holding her wrist. Then, she gave me a teasing grin which made my blush come back.

"I don't mean anything what you are thinking right now!" I retorted back as I realized what she was implying which she brought her hand over her mouth with that teasing eyes of hers.

"I always loved watching you're reactions. I'm glad you didn't change that much since the last time I saw you." She said genuinely with a smile which just made my face a shade darker with the blush.

"S-shut up!" I looked away and crossed my arms. "On that matter, what do you do exactly? I don't have much information of your work whatsoever." I glanced back.

"I haven't told you?" She asked back as if not exactly catching on the matter at hand. "I guess I was too busy if I haven't told you about it yet." She brought her finger to her chin.

"Yeah, so what is it? What is your job?" I asked again.

"Writing. Writing is my job. I really was busy figuring things out and how to get out of a writers' block." She finally answered after a short pause, her hand at the back of her neck.

"If that is so, why haven't I crossed to any of your works?" I asked again.

"Oh that, my works aren't really the ones that you like to read and stuff." She answered while putting her hands in front of her as if defending.

"Y-you know about that?"

"You aren't exactly good at hiding stuff. I would've found them sooner or later." She said with a smug smile.

"Have you read some of it?"

"No, I only saw the cover and some open pages when I went over your house back then."

"No!" I exclaimed in grimace and embarrassment, covering my face with both of my hands.

"That doesn't matter anymore, I still love you as you are." She assured me which made me quickly turn my head back to her.

"What did you just say?" I brought my face close to hers as I started to calm back down which made her to step backward.

"This is what I said." She paused for awhile before saying that. Then she moved closer until our lips met which brought about a bigger shock than she already did this early morning.

"I said I still love you as you are." She said with a smile while her arms are around my waist.

"What's with you...." More of a statement than a question. I was too embarrassed to say anything else. I brought my hands over to my face again which made her laugh.

'So this is the main reason why you wanted to stay in my place. Not that I'm complaining. Actually, I've always loved you too' I thought while a smile was forming on my face. Not that she would notice anyway, I was covering my face.

And thus another day has come before me of another year. I wished for this day to end quickly. I want to go home and immerse myself in my music. At least that's what I used to think.

I faced this day with a smile. Went off to look forward to another exciting day with my beloved.
