Fox and Rabbit (ShizuKasu)

No One's POV

Kasumi is being belittled, at least in her opinion. The cause of her smile failing to hold its shape. And it's all thanks to the smiling brown haired having her hand on Kasumi's head, stroking it.

She's supposed to be the predator here. A fox with its claws and jaws getting petted by a rabbit with its soft and innocent appearance. It makes her scoff, mainly disappointed at herself for actually liking it for some reason.

"You're being obedient for once Kasumi." She can hear the amusement in her voice, resulting in her moving away from the touch taking a few steps back. She looked at the rabbit with a shocked face, like she was being ridiculed, which she kind of actually was.

"I-is that so wrong, Shizuko?" She looks away, her bashfulness taking over her overconfident self.

"No. It's just cute." Shizuku laughs. Though the sentiment actually puts a grin on the fox. She puts a hand over her chest, proud.

"Of course! It's me! I'm always cute!"

"Yes, yes." Shizuku just nods at the fox. She became accustomed to this behaviour. They've become quite the good friend to each other, Shizuku earning much of a protection from Kasumi and Kasumi not being alone anymore.

Their first encounter wasn't exactly that smooth. It was rough.

Kasumi was on the lookout for prey. She hadn't had anything to eat for the past few days, it took a toll on her body. But the moment she saw a flash of something fast run across in her line of sight, her instinct took over and made the necessary dash for her to push down that prey. She was about to take her first bite, a much needed bite to the neck.

"W-wait!" A scared voice makes her return her control back, as well as the color in her eyes. She stopped an inch away from biting the creature's neck.

"Why do I have to wait? I'm hungry. Unless you have something more appealing than you, then you may be spared." Kasumi holds the shoulders of the rabbit, now that she had taken a good look at the creature she had caught.

"I-I do!" Shizuku stutters the words out, still trying to keep the fox at bay. Her own hands gripping the hands that were holding her shoulder, barely making any effect on the desperate hold of the fox.

"Then where is this thing you speak of?" Kasumi relaxes her hold on Shizuku, letting the creature under her breathe.

"Please get off of me first." Shizuku props herself up by her shoulders. Kasumi goes to the side of Shizuku, waiting for the other to offer something. She was eagerly waiting for Shizuku to take something out until she feels Shizuku's fingers on her mouth. When Shizuku retracts her hand, Kasumi takes her time to chew. She remembers the familiar taste in her mouth, berries. Of course, a rabbit would have some berries. She marvels at the delicious taste of the berry.

"What'd you do with this!? Why- Are you trying to change my mind about meat!?" Kasumi asks as soon as she swallows the berry, immediately taking the one Shizuku had offered. Shizuku only smiled as the fox continued to chow down on the berries that she had kept for emergencies like these.

"I'm glad you're enjoying those. Then I'll be taking my leave, Miss Fox." Shizuku pats herself off before fully standing up to go back to where she was supposed to go.

"Where are you going?" Kasumi asks. Holding onto the wrist of the rabbit, looking up at her, finishing her last berry.

"Home."

"I'll go with you." Kasumi pulls herself up by pulling on the rabbit, making the other to fall back on the grass. Kasumi pulls her up a second later, an apologetic expression on her face. The rabbit only giggled at the sentiment, but she was surprised, only for a moment. "I want more of those berries."

The comment made a full blown laughter burst out from the rabbit, to which the fox pouts and looks to the side, seemingly grumbling to herself. When Shizuku got herself calm again with a few breaths, she shows the fox a smile.

"Shizuku."

Shizuku pulls on her hand that was still being held by the fox. The fox on the other hand looked at the rabbit in a questioning look until she finally got what the rabbit was trying to say.

"Kasumi." Shizuku smiles and pulls on Kasumi's hand to her house.

Shizuku laughs at the excited Kasumi in her memory.

"What are you laughing for?" Kasumi pries closer with her hand hovering over the brunette's forehead, ready to flick her. Shizuku sees the attempt and reaches both her hands to hold the hovering hand, pulling it closer to her chest.

"Just reminiscing about our first meeting and how cute you were acting then." Her smile then reached her eyes that made Kasumi doubt something.

"So you did put something in those berries! Is that right, Shizuko!?" She said pointing an accusatory finger to the still laughing brunette.

"It was all natural."
