Part 25

"Anything you may need now my king?" The General asked staying several steps away from the royal's bed , his arms linked behind his back, his posture straight as he spoke.

"Nothing.....I think.." Jesse gripped at the sheets, before letting his hands relax, but still kept looking down at them ." The dungeon?"

"Yes my king." Was all he got for an answer.

Jesse nods slowly,  he tilts his head up to look at the other male. "Why?"

" Clearly she attempted to-"

"Not that ." Jesse cut him off his eyes hardening as he stared at his General . "Why so distant, Yubel? "

Yubel lets out a low sigh , his gaze moving away from the young king on the bed for a moment before going back to him. " It isn't my right anymore,  King Jesse Yuki Anderson. "

Jesse cringed , hearing his title leaving the other's lips , still his heart picking up at the reminder . He bites his lip before speaking again. " We were friends."

The corner of Yubel's lips turns up a bit ." That's right we were. We can't be anymore. " He said bowing and turning around , starting to take steps away away from the bed .

"Is it about of our promise?"

That stopped the male in mid step. Him being grateful that his back was turned to the other . " Not in the slightest,  your royalty."

Jesse grips the sheets again, not caring of the wound on his arm  at the moment. "Turn around and say that to my face , calling me by name ."

Yubel closed his eyes, his hands tightening around each other . Either way he didn't turn around as the door opened and Jehu stepped in , the dark  teal taking a moment to take in what was going on ,but continuing to walk towards the bed nonetheless.

Yubel's eyes met his for the short timespan that Jehu passed him , before the General walks towards the door closing it .

"Yubel!!" Jesse shouts , reaching out in the direction of the door,  but his calls where left unanswered as he stumbled to fall of the bed , closing his eyes waiting for the impact, although nothing happened as he was held and set back down on the bed gently.

"Careful there. " Jehu whispered,  covering him with the sheets,  not looking at him in the eyes .

Jesse blinks surprised at the other's soft actions  ,before he started to move away  reaching for his knife under his pillow. " What are you doing here ? I thought you already left!" The royal tried to make himself as intimidating as he could,  holding the sharp metal in his brother's direction.

"Calm down." Jehu chuckles, on his face a soft expression , as he pushes the knife to the side with his finger. " I won't hurt you, promise. "

Jesse glares at him. " Give me a reason why should I  trust you? Hm?" He returned, his grip secured on the knife.

Jehu smiles and looks down at his belly then up on the panicked emeralds . " I wouldn't hurt my blood like this . It's too low , I'm a honorable man ." He shrugs.

Jesse pressed his lips together, placing his free hand over his belly,  trying to hide the most of his panick. " And the same one that swore to make my life hell."

"You got me there lil'bro . "

Jesse blinked ,  surprised at the other's casualty. He stared as his brother scratched the back of his neck nervously, a manner he got in his younger years.

"Anyway ~ ....." Jehu gulps , bringing his hand back down on his lap . "My nephew?"

Jesse reluctantly let the knife down  , but near enough to be able to protect himself.  He places his hands over his belly smiling softly , deciding to let go of his thoughts about Yubel for a while  .  " Who said it's a boy?"

Jehu hums , and smiles." Well I said . I'd love having a little mini you running around ~"  He reluctantly reaches with his hand to Jesse's belly,  green meeting amber.

Jesse bites his lip , contemplating if he should really let the other,  his brother that close. He nodded and Jehu placed his hand on the small bump." Why did you stay?"

"For you. " Jehu replied, stroking his belly and smiling fondly. " I knew something like this would happen. .....well not this early but yeah.."

Jesse's cheeks reddened,  although his stomach churned for a sec . " That ...."

The other male chuckles and moves his hand away from his belly to pat his shoulder. " Don't worry, I know you can't resist him."

The churning feeling is back and makes Jesse frown . He raises his head looking at Jehu. " Do you still have feelings for him?"

The silence that comes after he spoke,  makes Jesse's chest hurt . He couldn't possibly-

"No."

"Huh?" Jesse blinks confused at the other.

"I don't hold those kind of feelings towards him anymore. " Jehu clarified,  his face serious and voice strangely honest. " I don't think it was different for him either.  He moved on with you lil'bro , and I also did  with my king.  Had it been that strong connection it would have resisted. "

The young king stood silent taking in his brother's words . Every minute that passed easing his hurt.

" I love him, Jesse.  I really love Haou , like never anyone before ....And .....  I promise I won't come between you and him too ." Jehu expressed , not even once leaving his brother's eyes.

A smile stretched in Jesse's lips at his words,  he took Jehu's hand in his and smiled . " I understand. "

Jehu grinned and leaned in carefully hugging Jesse,  trying not to let him move and open the stitches.  When he pulled away he spoke again.
"And another thing lil'bro, ... I don't trust him ."

" Who? Jaden?"

Jehu smiles hearing the emperor's name slip from Jesse's lips so casually.  He could see the connection the two shared was more than a simple arrangement. It was deeper. " No ...Yubel. "

At that Jesse laughs a little stroking his belly. " Why ? What's not to trust in him ?"

Jehu bit his lip ,his eyebrows closer ." Just.. ..be careful around him ok?....I will be here too....

' Still .....I trust him more than you Jehu....'
