Chapter 7: The Party

Meggy Pov

Finally, after weeks of planning, decorating, and waiting for Y/n to ask me, the party is today! My friends Three and Four, as they like to call themselves, were helping me get ready. They managed to find me an orange dress. The same color hue as my tentacles. They wouldn't let me keep my headphones or goggles, but they let me keep my beanie on. Thank God. 

Four: Oh hey, Meggy. You said this guy is pretty tall with messy (h/c) hair right?

Meggy: Yeah, why?

Three: Well I think the man of the hour is almost here.

I ran up and looked out the window, and Three was right. i'd recognize that mess of hair anywhere.

Meggy: Ah crap! Do I look ok? Do I have everything? 

I grab a case of breath mints and popped a few in my mouth not bothering with them normally and just chewed them up.

Four: Meggy, calm down girl! You look great, we got everything in your bag, and you already brushed your teeth. Five times.

I take a seat on the couch putting my head in my hands.

Meggy: I know, I just... I don't want to mess this up. 

I heard him knock on the door.

Meggy: Well here goes everything...

I opened the door, and took all my confidence to look up at his face. He was blushing and staring at me. He also had his glasses off. I never had a good look at his face without his glasses. When I did, he was either sleeping or ripping off a mask. But now, I can see that determined shine in his eyes, looking over him he was wearing a close resemblance to his thief outfit, he even had a pair of red gloves.

Y/n: Wow, Meggy. You look fantastic.

Meggy: Th-thank you. Well shall we?

He smiled and held out his hand. 

Four: Have fun you two!

I just blushed and dragged Y/n with me to escape them.

Y/n Pov

Once Meggy an I made it to the castle Meggy saw Tari and Saiko, letting her catch up with them real quick I found SMG4 and Luigi. 

Y/n: So who'd you come with?

SMG4: Tari...

Y/n: *Pats SMG4's back* I knew you had it in ya buddy.

SMG4: Well when you asked Meggy, I knew I had to follow up so I asked Tari.

Y/n: Luigi?

Luigi: ...Saiko...

Both SMG4 and I just stared at Luigi, having found a new respect for him. We talked for a while wondering whats gonna happen after, and eventually about our new lives as Phantom Thieves. I notice the girls walking over to us.

SMG4: I'm just pissed that my gloves turn yellow! I mean come on! Look at Y/n here he is practically wearing is outfit. Look how good it looks! His red gloves at least go well with his outfit.

Y/n: Wow, I knew I look good but not THAT good.

SMG4: Oh shut up.

Meggy: Yeah, sorry SMG4 but hitting on Y/n won't work. He already has a date.

I blush, and soon Meggy realized what she said.

Meggy: I mean not a date. I'm not saying I wouldn't mind this being a date if he wanted it to be, but if he doesn't and want this to be just us as friends that's fine too, haha. I'll shut up now... (Idiot!)

After that awkward moment we talked again, the girls included this time. Soon it was just Meggy and I, everyone else having gone to either grab a few snacks or dance. My Joker side wanting to mess with Meggy popped up.

Y/n: So, a date huh?

Meggy: *Blushes* Can we not please?

Y/n: Oh come on, it was cute.

She only responds by pulling her beanie down over her eyes, and I just laugh.

Meggy: ...Y/n.

Y/n: Yeah?

Meggy: Do you... Do you want this to be a date?

As soon as I was about to answer, a slow song begins. Thank you perfectly timed cliche moments. I stand up and turned to her, holding out my hand.

Y/n: Care to dance?

I could've sworn she could not have turned any more red. But she took my hand. As we begin dancing I felt her get closer and closer, eventually resting her head on my chest. After a while we were just swaying side to side, holding each other close. Till she looked up.

Meggy: Mistletoe.

Y/n: We don't have to if you don't want to.

Meggy: Y/n, we have known each other for a long time right?

Y/n: Yeah, almost a whole year.

Meggy: Well, in that time, you became one of my greatest friends. You always cheered me up when I was down, you helped me when I needed it. You became very important to me. That day, in that cell, I was scared when Kamoshida ordered you to be killed, being held under the foot of that knight, to being stabbed. Three times in one day, I thought I was going to lose you. I don't want to lose you.

I felt her wrap her arms tighter around my neck, pulling herself and I closer to each other.

Meggy: I want you to stay here.

Her face begins coming closer.

Meggy: With us.

Her eyes close.

Meggy: With me.

And with that, our lips connect. Sparks fly from within, and millions of butterflies flapping their wings in my stomach. After she pulled away I opened my eyes to see her smiling.

Meggy: I love you, Y/n.

Y/n: I love you too, Meggy. 

Meggy: Uh... can we kiss again? I enjoyed it.

I just smile and pull her in for another kiss. Just as good, if not better, than the first.
