You, SMG4, Mario, Luigi, and Axol were hanging out at a cafe. Actually it was the same cafe Akechi had introduced to you. Everyone was having a great time, sharing stories, and jokes. After another laughing fit, you heard a familiar voice.
Akechi: Oh, hello Y/n. How are you today?
Y/n: Hey Akechi. Not bad, how are you?
Akechi: Desti just got done training. I came here for some coffee before I head in for work.
SMG4: If you got time you could join us.
Akechi: That would be nice.
So Akechi joined you in your conversations, telling him about your old adventures with SMG4 and the others. Some of them had him laughing a bit, like how Mario once tried taking over SMG4's computer.
Others had him literally rolling. Like how you and Mario were stuck with a job at a place called Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria and had to survive against a horde of robots. Your stories were interrupted with a news cast about your recent heist against the mob boss Kaneshiro.
Akechi: The Phantom Thieves huh?
SMG4: Oh, you heard of them?
Akechi: Yes, I have. In fact they helped in some of my cases actually. Makes my job that much easier.
Y/n: Well, what's your take on them?
Akechi: I'm sorry?
Axol: He means do you think they are criminals, or are they just?
Akechi: Good question. While in the eyes of other police like myself, we do say that while forcing a person to confess their crimes is a bit criminal... I however think that they are indeed doing something good. In fact, if it weren't for my... current occupation, I would actually enjoy to be one of them.
Mario: Oh, as a defective?
Akechi: "Detective", and yes, you could say that.
There was something about how he said that, that rubbed you the wrong way. He also seemed, upset. Due to YOUR occupation, you got very good at reading other people. And Akechi was no different. Was he not liking his job? Or was there something more to it?
Akechi: So I never actually see you guys around the city. You all live nearby?
SMG4: We actually live at the castle with Princess Peach.
Axol: Well, I live in the dorms of the art school I am attending.
Akechi: Wow, that's... Amazing actually. And what art school?
Axol: Kosai academy.
Y/n: Yeah, I know her because she's a close friend to my parents.
Akechi was lost for words.
Y/n: Oh, how's it going with Desti by the way?
Akechi blushed a bit at the question.
Akechi: I actually asked her out for dinner just a few days ago. She said yes, and we will be going tonight.
SMG4: Heyyy, congrats man! Tari and I doing great!
Y/n: Yeah, I would know. I could hear you two last night!
SMG4 blushed hard as the others laughed.
Y/n: I would like to sleep sometimes. This *You gesture to yourself* doesn't come naturally.
This only made the others laugh harder, and SMG4 to chuckle.
Y/n: But jokes aside, I'm happy for you man.
SMG4: Thanks man, how are you and Meggy?
You blushed a bit.
Y/n: While we have... touched each other recently, we never went that far. She wants to wait a little longer. Which I respect of course. Anyway, how are you and Saiko, Luigi?
Luigi: I'd rather NOT get into detail.
Akechi: Good, or bad?
Luigi: Honestly I don't know how to feel about it.
You all heard an alarm go off, turning to see it was coming from Akechi.
Akechi: Ah, it seems I need to get going. I hope to speak with you all again soon, I had fun.
You all agreed and said you will. Akechi left, leaving you and the others back to where you all left off.

As Akechi entered his office he received a phone call. Seeing who it was, he sighed and hesitantly answered.
Akechi: Yes, sir.
?: I have two targets I need you to deal with. One will be difficult, as we do not know their identity. The other is quite well known.
Akechi: Very well, who are they?
?: The first is the leader of these so called "Phantom Thieves."
Akechi wrote that down in his notepad, under other scratched out names.
Akechi: Very well, next?
?: The Princess herself. Peach. Fail to do so, and you know the consequences.
The man hung up, leaving a very upset Akechi. The Princess of the Kingdom? Pulling out a picture of himself and Desti, he muttered under his breath.
Akechi: I'm sorry Y/n, but I must. To protect her.
