The day after we sent the Calling Card, we headed into the Palace to steal Madarame's treasure and make him have a change of heart. We ran to our spots and got ready to put our plan into motion. I started lowering Morgana as soon as the lights went off, and once the lights came back on Mona had the treasure. Soon we reunited with Skull and Fox. Once we got outside Mona wanted to get a look the treasure.
Mona: Treasure! Huh?
Skull: THIS is the treasure!?
The "treasure" was simply a painting that a child in elementary school could paint.
Fox: Get back!
We all get away as electrical fences surrounded the treasure.
Shadow Madarame: Meddlesome vermin.
We turn around to see Madarame and two of his guards.
Shadow Madarame: Is this what you're looking for?
Mona: What nonsense that you used a mousetrap on me!
Skull: So you had a fake prepped huh?
Shadow Madarame: Counterfeits are accepted in the world of art.
Fox: What made you change like this!? Is it because you became famous!? Can't you understand how much it pains me to inquire about the crimes of my foster father!?
Shadow Madarame: Now that I think back, the only reason why I took you in was due to my ties with your mother. That woman never lost her passion for painting even after her husband died. Her skills and talents were quite astonishing... That's the only reason why I decided to look after her. Your mother and the artwork she created-They're all MY works of art!
Mona: How low can you sink?
Shadow Madarame: I suppose before you die, Axol, I can show you a glimpse of your mother's final work of art: "Sayuri"
Madarame motioned the guard and he walked up and held up a painting.
Fox: That's... Sayuri...?
Shadow Madarame: Indeed it is, and that's not all. This is also a self portrait, of herself and her precious son. A woman who knew her death was coming painted her last wishes, for the son she would leave behind.
Joker: You stole something THAT personal!?
Shadow Madarame: I knew at first glance, I knew it'd be a huge success if I added a touch to the painting and announced it under my name! If I painted over the baby in the painting the woman's expression would become a mystery. That is what the public is drawn to! Each of those parasitic critics wrote the same thing!
Mona: I always felt something was off about all this... Now I know what it is. If you really treasured that painting, you wouldn't even think about replicating it for profit! Though you have a real treasure, your true skills are nothing more than those scribbles on that fake!
Skull: It makes me laugh asshole!
Shadow Madarame: So you'll defy me no matter what... Well then since your my work of art Axol, I'm going going to reap you for the sake of my future. Along with those insolent friends of yours there.
Joker: I can't believe your treating both mother and son like their both objects... You're inhuman!
Mona: Fox?
Fox: I've heard you destroy your "art" once they've outlived their usefulness...Did that include my mother as well?
Madarame grew a sick smile on his face.
Shadow Madarame: She just so happened to have a seizure in front of me. That's when a thought crossed my mind. If I don't call for help and leave her there, I could obtain the painting without any strings attached.
Joker: You...let her die?
Shadow Madarame: She was physically weak. No one would doubt it if she just dropped dead because of a seizure. Above all, Axol, didn't you think it was odd-that I discovered your talent when you were only three? The reason why I kept you around was to keep you from realizing the truth behind Sayuri.
Fox: You killed her...!
Shadow Madarame: The artistic talents you inherited from your mother were a delightful miscalculation, though. If i'm to steal ideas, it's much easier robbing the future of brats who won't talk back than adults. It's thanks to you that I came up with the idea. You have my gratitude.
Fox: *Chuckles*
Joker: Axol?
Fox: I thank you, Madarame. Every reason for me to forgive you has disappeared without a trace at this very moment! You aren't some rotten artist... You're a despicable fiend who wears the sjin of an artist!
Shadow Madarame: All you good-for-nothings! Barging into my museum and doing whatever the hell you want!
A black and red puddle begins forming beneath Madarame.
Shadow Madarame: Those who have the connections make the rules: hose who don't follow them. Not to mention the value of art is all subjective! I make the rules in the art scene! I am the supreme being! I am the god of the art world!
Mona: This isn't good, get back!
The puddle rises and drowns Madarame in its distortion, after it comes back down, Madarame transforms into a monster of four separate art pieces, two for his eyes, one nose, and his mouth.
Shadow Madarame: I'll paint all over you! Now let's begin you vermin!
Fox: You used others for your own despicable desires, Madarame... You aren't even worth the art you "create"
Tari: Don't lose focus guys! Who knows what he'll try?
The fight was again difficult, some of his pieces were immune to physical damage, others to our magic. He began summoning more of his guards, so we had to deal with this, abomination, as well as insects. Once we got a system down we soon took down one eye and the nose. He began spewing black ink everywhere, and it hit Mona, making him weak. After a tough and grueling fight we managed to get all his pieces down. He turned back into a human and we went for an All-Out Attack, defeating this sorry excuse of an artist. After conversing with the defeated form and him telling us about someone in a black mask, we grabbed Sayuri and fled while the Palace was crumbling. After escaping we all decided to sleep for the night, and wait for Madarame's change of heart and his confession.
