Its been days since we stole Madarame's treasure, and we are still waiting for his change of heart. But during this time, Meggy has locked herself in her room. It started the day we sent the Calling Card, when I encountered that one girl. Just thinking about that girl gives me a headache. I'm hoping its just her going through some personal problems, and not what I'm thinking. I told her how much I loved her, but I'm worried it didn't get through. I really don't want to do this, but I need to at least make sure, as I've seen plenty of these in Mementos as well.
Taking a deep breath I took out my phone and opened the MetaNav.
Name: Meggy Spletzer
Location: Mementos
Searching...
I stare at my phone, hoping, praying that I'm wrong and this is something I can talk with her about and...
Target Confirmed... Setting route.
I close my eyes and release the breath I had no idea I was holding as the world distorted around me, taking me to the entrance of Mementos. Calming my nerves and finding my resolve, I walk forward following the route set for me.

There she was, the shadow of my girlfriend, her true self. But she had a sad look on her, and noticing the necklace she had in her hand. The necklace that had my name on it. She looked up.
Shadow Meggy: Ah, it seems you have come for me too? Sorry, but I'm not going to fight you.
Y/n: I'm not here to fight Meggy, I'm here to help you. Why are you like this, please tell me.
She just looked away from me. I walked forward, but she kept walking backwards.
Y/n: Meggy, please talk to me, why are you avoiding us?
Shadow Meggy: I lied...
Y/n: Lied? About what?
Shadow Meggy: That day, with that girl, I heard everything. She's right...
Y/n: Meggy?
Her voice boomed, shaking the room.
Shadow Meggy: She's right! To other humans, I'm just a freak! Somebody who uses ink as her weapon, who can turn into a squid, who has tentacles for hair! No one has ever heard of a human and inkling relationship. Soon things will spread, and you'll be treated by other humans like a freak, because in their eyes I am a freak. That's why I'm distancing myself from you. To make the inevitable not hurt so much.
Y/n: You... Actually think... I give a damn what anybody else thinks of me? You think I care if I don't get treated like a normal human? And what's this about the inevitable?
Shadow Meggy: The day you leave me for someone else, someone human...
Y/n: Look at me.
She looks at the floor.
Y/n: Meggy, look at me.
She starts to back up more, but before she can get far I dash forward and gently grab her chin and make her look at me.
Y/n: Don't you ever think like that again.
Shadow Meggy: What?
Y/n: I will never leave you. As I said, I don't care how people think about me. And look around you, does any of this seem normal? Is anything we ever do normal?
Realization begins to form in her eyes.
Y/n: I know, this is just that voice in your head telling you things you don't want want to hear. But block it out with these words. I love you, and only you Meggy. You were always there when I needed you. Patched each other up, and kept each other going. I will never leave you. You are the only girl I need in my life, be you human, or inkling.
At this point the Shadow is crying, you wipe the tears away and take one of her hands.
Y/n: You are the reason I fight, the mere thought of you getting hurt angers me. The reason I keep going is to come back and see your smile. I yearn for your hugs, I feel at peace when you kiss me. I'm addicted to you. When I'm with you there is nothing wrong with this world. I love you.
Her legs gave out and collapsed, catching her, she wrapped her arms around me and cried into my chest.
Shadow Meggy: I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. While your out there worrying about me, I'm doubting you.
I just hold her close, letting her cry and vent. After a few minutes she calms down.
Shadow Meggy: You know they should lock you up. Stealing my heart twice now...
Y/n: I'll tell them to make room for two, cause you stole mine.
Shadow Meggy: Your such a dork. But that's one of the reasons why I love you. Go, talk to the me in the real world, we'll be waiting.
The shadow began shining, just like the others and flew out of Mementos, leaving behind a mirror. I look at it, wondering why this was her treasure, then I turned it around words being written on the back: "My treasure is, and always will be you, my Joker."
