Chapter 32: You're Mine

The effects of the change of heart was immediate, as the day after Shido confessed everything. Including the false charges put against you. Calling you out by name, he told the world that he was the one who was harassing the woman, and that you were the one trying to help her. He confessed that he was the one who tried to punch you, yet he missed and fell.

With the threat of Shido gone, and your name cleared, you finally returned home. Everyone greeted you with happy smiles, and congrats. Your team high-fiving you. And once you reached Meggy, you were pulled in for a deep kiss. However the moment was ruined as your phone started blowing up with messages.

Messages from your old friends and family members.

Those who didn't believe you and ignored you. And those who completely abandoned you.

Every message had something that had to do with an apology, but you just silenced your phone and went back to kissing Meggy.

Peach has been planning a celebration party for your victory over Shido and your name being cleared. Tonight is the night. Everyone was getting ready for the party. My parents were here and they were currently talking with Meggy. At first, they were surprised at Meggy's look but then I remembered that the last time they saw her she was an Inkling.

After explaining what happened, and how she became human, they understood and they began talking. I went over to my team and talked to them.

Meanwhile with Meggy, she was getting to know them better. And wondering how you were as a kid.

Mom: Oh, he was such a sweet kid.

Dad: Very respectful. And when he grew up he was quite the ladies man.

Meggy couldn't help but laugh at that. He wasn't wrong. But that also got her worried. Only that one girl approached him that day. But now that his name is cleared, Meggy is sure that more girls will try to approach him. She knew that she had to do something, and decided that tonight has to be the night.

But first, she wanted to see you again. After thanking your parents and saying it was great to see them again, she began her search for you. When she finally found you, she called out your name and grabbed your wrist. Her eyes widened when you winced in pain.

Meggy: Y/n? What's wrong?

You look over at her, guilt filling you.

Y/n: Sorry Meggy, guess I shouldn't have kept this from you.

You bring her to your room and you both sit down. Fron your bedside drawer you pull out a first aid kit.

Y/n: I just didn't want everyone to worry about this.

You pull up your sleeves, showing a few bandages that had begun to turn brown. Unwrapping them, she gasped when she saw the cuts and bruises on your wrists. It looked bad, and they looked like they would scar for a long time. Maybe permanently.

Y/n: The cuffs they used were way too tight and they grinded into my wrist.

She said nothing but helped you clean the wounds and put on a fresh wrapping of bandages. Grabbing both wrist gently, she put them up to her forehead.

Meggy: Pain... pain... go away...  All the way to Shido's bald head!

You couldn't help but laugh, Meggy soon joining as well.

The ball room of the castle was filled to the brim with people. What annoyed you was that most of the people there were again, the ones who abandoned you. Most of the girls from your old school tried hitting on you, but you ignored them.
