At exactly 9 pm , the gang(except Ruhaan and Tapasya) gathered in the auditorium along with some other volunteers and the security guard.

Security: We'll be outside the auditorium. Call us if you need anything.

The rest of the gang nodded and they left. As soon as they were out of sight, Mitali turned to the rest and said,

Mitali: Okay guys, so here's what we need to do.....( Explanation)

The gang chorused in a Yes and got to work.

Daksh and Ananya were given the task of painting the staging area along with some other members. Daksh and Ananya started with the front wall.

Daksh: Vese Mitali ne yeh acha socha hai!

Anu: Kya?

Daksh: Arey yeh khud hi auditorium ko thik karne ka idea. Isse kam bhi jaldi ho jayega aur paise bhi bach jayenge.

Anu: Ha voh to hai!

Daksh:(in a whisper) Aur mujhe tumhare sath vaqt bitane ka mauka bhi mil jayega!

Anu: Kuch kaha tumne?

Daksh: Nahi. Kuch bhi to nahi.

Ananya eyed him suspiciously but then shrugged it off. She climbed down the ladder and went to get the other bucket of paint. As she was about to take it, Daksh swooped in beside her and took it. His hands rested on hers . They awkwardly looked at each other, sharing an eyelock.

Anu:(cutting off the eye contact) Um....tum...le lo.

Daksh:(scratching the back of his head) Um...nahi nahi tum le lo.

Ananya quietly nodded and looked at the bucket.

Anu: Daksh, ab tum apna hath hatoge tabhi to mai yeh le paungi.

Daksh ,realizing his mistake, quickly removed his hand. Ananya smiled shyly and took the bucket and went back to work. Daksh rejoined her as she went up the ladder and started painting. Daksh, then, intentionally started painting close to where she was painting. Their brushes intertwined at a place. Both looked at each other for a while. This time Daksh cut off the eye contact and said,

Daksh: Tum udhar paint karo.

Ananya's mouth curved into an 'O'.

Anu: Harey! Mai tumse pehle yaha paint kar rahi thi! Tum jao!

Daksh; Maine kaha na tum jao!

Anu: To maine bhi to kaha ! Udhar jao!

Daksh: Ananya ! Jao!

Ananya flung her arms in frustration and accidentally tipped off the bucket. The paint flung and landed on Daksh. Ananya immediately cupped her mouth in horror. Daksh looked at his shirt and then at Ananya with widened eyes. Ananya quickly climbed down the ladder and said,

Anu: Sorry! Sorry! Sorry! Sorry! Galti se gir gaya !

Daksh: (faking anger)Galti! Galti se tum kuch acha nahi kar sakti!

Anu: Sorry bola na Daksh, ab gussa kyu kar rahe ho!

Daksh: Ab mai kya karu , Ananya?

Anu: Ruko! Mai saf kar deti hu! Ruko ruko!

Saying that, she took a piece of cloth and started wiping the paint that was on him. Daksh admired her with sly smile on his face. His trick had worked. He was finally close to her.

Ananya noticed him looking at her and blinked fast. She was standing so close to him that she could feel his breath and hear his heart thumping. Or maybe it was hers, cause she knew how fast it was beating. They gazed into each other's eyes as though the world had stopped for them. The presence of so many people didn't seem to bother them.

She struggled hard to keep her hair off her face. It was the disturbing element in this case. She had paint in her hands so she couldn't remove them. Daksh noticed her struggle and slightly nudged her to stop. She looked surprisingly at him. He slowly removed the strands of her hair from her face with his left hand. Ananya felt herself at a loss of words. When Daksh suddenly spoke,

Daksh: Thanks, I'll manage.

Ananya still fumbled for words. Daksh slowly took backward steps without turning back . He still had that smile on his face. Ananya kept gazing at him until he was out of sight. She decided to get back to work when she realized that the kercheif was still in her hands. She looked at it and a genuine smile appeared on her face.

Finally , some progress these two had!
