Sunlight peeped through the shades and fell on Mitali's face. She slowly opened her eyes and sat up. Rubbing her eyes, she grabbed her phone to check the time.
11:00 am, it read. 'Crap', she thought. She quickly got up and freshened up. Once showered and dressed, she decided to go out for breakfast. Or brunch, whatever it was, when her gaze fell on the nightstand where a piece of paper was laying lazily. She picked it up and read,
Hey Mitali, it's Tapasya. I know you probably must be wondering where I am. I'm sorry I didn't inform you guys before leaving. My parents arrived here yesterday and unfortunately, something terrible happened. I'm sure Ru must've told you about it.
Anyways, my dad was very mad at me and decided that it was best if we leave for Mumbai. I couldn't really argue with him since I've committed a mistake and on top of that, I've never seen dad this angry. There is something more to it. But I still haven't figured it out.
Anyways, when you find this please do pass it on to Ru. I'm sure he must be worried about me. And you guys, please enjoy the wedding. I don't want you guys to spend tommorow worrying about me, okay? Take care of Ru for me.
Tapasya
P.S- Don't try to call me. My phone was in my pocket when I fell in the pool. And that's why it's not working. I'll text Ru or Adi from my mom's phone when I get to Mumbai ( Although I'm not sure whether I'll be able to convince mom).
Mitali furrowed her eyebrows.
'Poor Queen B', she thought.
She immediately rushed to Ruhaan's room. After three knocks, Adi answered the door.
For a minute, the duo just kept staring at each other, desperately wanting to end the silence. After a moment,
Mitali: Is Ruhaan here?
Adi just nodded and stepped aside letting her in. Ruhaan turned and asked,
Ruhaan: Mitali? What brings you here?
Mitali: Tapasya left this.
She handed him the note. Taking it, Ruhaan said,
Ruhaan: Left it? What do you mean? Where is she?
Mitali: Just read it. You'll get your answers.
Ruhaan nodded and started reading. Adi closed the door and stood next to Ruhaan. He looked at Mitali once or twice but no response. Mitali just stood there staring at the ground, desperately wanting to get away from the awkward atmosphere.
Once Ruhaan was done, he handed the note to Adi and sat down on the bed.
Ruhaan: When did you find this?
Mitali: This morning.
After reading the note, Adi asked,
Adi: The note says she left yesterday. Didn't you see the note last night?
Mitali: Well, unlike some, I had a really rough day yesterday. When I came back to the room, it was almost 2'o' clock. I was exhausted and fell asleep in an instant.
Adi sighed irritatingly, knowing that she was referring to their fight.
Ruhaan: Something is wrong.
Mitali: What do you mean?
Ruhaan: Uncle never stays angry at Tapasya for more than an hour. No matter what crime she had committed. She always manages to convince him. There's something off about all this.
Adi: Ruhaan, you're just overthinking. Look it's not like K.D uncle sees Tapasya kiss guys everyday. Give him some time to contemplate the whole situation. I'm sure he'll come around.
