3-The Start

Hoshi's POV:

-9 years later-

I sat up, panting as I gripped my chest where my dead heart rested. The crescent moon shone brightly through my window, the stars shining equally as bright. I had dreamt of my horrible past, being shot and for some reason, for the past few months, these blue eyes had always shown up. They were blue, darker than Kou's but they seemed to shine just as bright through the dark space I wandered around after images from the past showed up. Those eyes made my chest ache as they looked at me coldly, a strong presence behind them. The door opened and Ruki walked in, his tall figure reaching my bed. He touched my slightly damp forehead, a look of worry crossing his features.

"You had the same nightmare again?"

I nodded, unable to speak. He pulled me into his arms, whispering soothing words against my hair. All he knows about my nightmares is that remnants of the past pop up, but I didn't dare mention the blue eyes. These idiot four brothers of mines have become more overprotective over me, hating when I would go outside without their permission or talked to some boy in school. Mentioning some creepy eyes would only fuel their aggressiveness and I want to try everything to avoid that.

"Where's Kou?"

"He's at a modeling shoot right now. He'll be back in about an hour."

Kou had ended up becoming an idol a few years after we were rescued, the smile on his face growing more and more fake as the years passed. I'm just glad he puts on a genuine smile in the house or I would have punched his face sooner or later.

"How about Bear?"

"He's out in the garden picking the tomatoes."

I nodded, getting up and shooing him out of the room, giving him a quiet thanks and a kiss on the cheek. I closed the door, quickly changing into a black tank top with some denim shorts, putting my bright red hair into a ponytail. I teleported outside to the garden to see Yuma squatting next to his cherry tomatoes, cooing like a weirdo at the fruits. I snuck behind him before jumping on his back, almost making him fall into the greens. He was able to catch himself before giving me a small glare.

"Oi, Hoshi! What if I had fallen in there?"

"Oh, shut up Bear. You can just grow new ones."

"How dare you disrespect my babies? You'll pay one day," he mumbled.

He moved me to the front, holding me up with one arm. He took one of the fruits and pushed it against my mouth. I gladly opened it, the warm juices coating my tongue. I made a noise of approval and gave him a thumbs-up, making him grin.

"They're delicious, as usual!"

"Of course they are. I grew them!" he said proudly and I could only imagine the steam coming out of his nose.

"Never mind. Your ego ruined the taste. I'm going to head inside."

"Ruki is probably gonna make you go shopping so buy me some sugar cubes while you're at it."

I gave him a wave as I walked back into the mansion, Ruki already seated in one of the chairs.

"Ruki, I heard you wanted me to go shopping."

"Yes, I do. Please bring me back some spices. Azusa will come with you."

"Where's that cutie anyways-"

"I'm...right here...Hoshi."

I jumped straight up like a cat when it's frightened. Azusa caught me, looking a bit confused.

"Jesus, Azu, don't do that," I said, splaying my hand across my heart.

"I'm....sorry."

His frown made me instantly coo as I rubbed his cheek with my hand and peppered kisses onto his face. I heard a cough behind me and Azusa put me down.

"Please get going."

"Ok, mother."

Ruki growled at the nickname but I had already teleported outside, Azusa next to me.

"Let's go, Azu."

We got into the limo waiting in front of us and it took us about five minutes to reach our destination. We got out and walked a bit, the streets and roads empty. Suddenly, there was a limo passing by, the windows completely tinted. The smell of purebloods passed by mixed in with a sweet smell and I almost ended up chasing it if it wasn't for Azusa next to me. He had grabbed my hand and shook his head before leading me to the store. We quickly bought Ruki's spices and Yuma's sugar cubes and exited the store, the limo still parked where it was last time. Only there was a perky blonde sitting in.

"Kou!"

I ran to him and gave him a tight hug, breathing in the smell of his cologne.

"Hi, my little star! I was waiting for you."

I gave him a grin and Azusa greeted him with a small 'hello' before getting into the limo. Out of all the brothers, I had to say I and Kou were the closest. We both boarded the limo and made small talk about his job, including Azusa once in a while. We finally reached the mansion and got out, but I froze, feeling the air.

"He's here," I whispered.

Kou and Azusa looked at me worriedly but I just took a deep breath, giving them a small smile before walking to the front door. I opened it, walking slowly down the hallway before coming to the living room, the devil himself sitting there. He turned as soon as I entered, a grin on his face.

"Hoshi. Welcome back."

I ignored him and sat next to Ruki, who held my hand comfortingly. Azusa quickly put the groceries away before standing timidly on the side, his fingers fidgeting with his bandages. Yuma stood next to him, a blank look on his face. Kou took the seat next to me, rubbing my shoulders. I gave him a grateful look before training my eyes on the male in front of me.

"So? What are you doing here?"

"Is that any way to treat your father after not seeing him for nine years, Hoshi?"

I just narrowed my eyes at him, not answering.

"Ahh, those eyes. Those fiery eyes. I don't hate that."

I gagged at his words and Ruki took that opportunity to talk.

"Sir, not to sound rude but what did you need from us?"

"Well, since everyone is here now, it is time to start the Adam and Eve plan."

"Adam and Eve plan? What is that?" I asked.

"Well, it doesn't really concern you but I guess I can fill you in since you'll be helping. Right now, my six sons have the Eve, also known as Yui Komori. She has demon blood running through her veins and with that, I plan to make a new race with Adam. All you need to do is suck her blood." Karl said.

"Really? Are you sure it's just sucking her blood?" I asked, a bit skeptical.

"Of course. Why would I lie?" he said, golden eyes gleaming with amusement.

I shivered as I looked at those eyes, instantly reminded of the ones in my dream. They had the same powerful presence. I shook it off, letting Ruki take over.

"So, what do we need to get her away from six purebloods like them?"

"I'll leave that up to you. I know this once can be a bit reckless so we'll see what she can do," he said, his hand reaching for me.

I bared my fangs, ready to fight. He simply chuckled before pulling his hand back and giving a wave before disappearing completely. I sighed in relief, falling backward onto the couch.

"We will discuss this plan tomorrow. Go to sleep everyone."

We all nodded, teleporting to our respective rooms. I changed quickly and hopped into my bed, putting in my earbuds and letting the soft sounds of the piano lull me to sleep.
