Hoshi's POV:

I opened my eyes to a knock on the door. Yui was still asleep, her condition slightly better as she snuggled into the blanket. I walked to the door and opened it, Yuma standing there with a tray of soup and bread.

"Ruki said to give this to you."

I took it from him and opened the door wider, allowing him to enter. I put the tray on the floor and gently shook the girl on the bed.

"Pierro."

She opened her pink eyes and sat up, looking around with a confused expression before grabbing her head.

"Where am I?"

"That stupid brother of mine is being stubborn so unfortunately, he put you in a cellar. You almost died yesterday."

Yui touched the blanket and the pillow, looking up at me.

"Did you bring this for me?"

"Don't take it the wrong way. Here, eat this."

I handed her the soup and bread that Yuma had brought for me, taking a seat in the chair once again.

"Hoshi-"

"No, she needs it more right now, Yuma. Don't argue with me or tell Ruki."

Yuma deflated but nodded, walking out.

"Thank you, Hoshi-san."

"Whatever."

She ate the food quickly, placing the tray on the side of her once she was finished. There was an awkward silence after and Yui started fidgeting with her hands while I played with the ring on my thumb.

"If you still feel tired, go to sleep. Your condition is still bad."

"Do you like Shu-san too, Hoshi-san?"

I froze, a visible flinch going through my body. I looked warily up at her before looking away.

"I do," I whispered.

She breathed out a long breath.

"I guess I should give up then, huh?"

I turned my head to look at her expression. She looked sad but behind that, it was almost like she knew that she had no chance.

"What are you talking about, Pierro?"

"After witnessing that scene with him defending you against your brothers, somehow, deep down, I knew. I knew what was going on between you two was a mutual feeling."

"I..."

I had no words to say, still extremely hurt about the kiss Yui and Shu shared.

"I saw you guys kissing..."

"Huh? Are you talking about the music room? I'm actually pretty clumsy. I tripped over the rug and somehow, our lips were the first things that touched. I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings, Hoshi-san." she paused. "But I don't regret that. I know I won't ever have his heart so this is the closest thing I'll get to Shu-san."

I felt guilt and relief settle in my heart. I had done exactly what my brothers have done, acting ignorant and not even bothering to listen. I groaned, closing my eyes. What am I supposed to do now? Shu probably hates me.

"Can I ask you one more question, Hoshi-san?"

"Depends."

She looked hesitant and I sighed.

"Go ahead."

"Why do you hate humans so much?"

I looked out the window, getting lost in my memories.

"Ever since I was a human, all humans have ever done was hurt me. They were selfish beings, always using others to get what they wanted. I would always get physically beat up when I decided to give them a piece of my mind. When I and my brothers tried escaping the orphanage, we were instantly shot down like we were animals, not the same species as them. Unfortunately, when I became a vampire, the selfishness still stayed around. I look at this world and I'm disgusted at half of this population."

Yui had tears in her eyes and she sniffled, one tear slipping. I sighed, using the end of my long-sleeved T-shirt to wipe the stray tear away.

"Don't cry. It's something that happened in the past. The me now is much stronger."

She nodded, putting on a smile.

"Thank you for telling me your story, Hoshi-san."

She pulled me into her arms and I sat there, stiff and unsure of what to do. I just pat her back awkwardly and pulled away, not used to that much human contact. I was about to speak when I felt a chill go up my spine. I ran to the window, looking out of it and noticed a certain redhead standing there, his eyes trained upwards. His eyes moved slowly to mine and I nodded, walking back to Yui.

"Hoshi-san?"

"It seems like Shitface is here to pick you up."

"My name isn't Shitface."

Ayato now stood in the doorframe, his arms crossed with a scowl on his face.

"A-Ayato-kun!"

He walked up to Yui, grabbing her wrist. Ruki suddenly appeared where Ayato once stood, watching us with hooded eyes.

"We're leaving, Pancake."

"B-but-"

"Go with him, Pierro. Trust me."

She looked extremely conflicted before nodding.

"Okay, I'll listen Hoshi-san. Thank you for taking care of me."

"I'll see you soon, Yui."

Her eyes widened but Ayato had already teleported away, leaving the sweet smell lingering in the room. I pat Ruki on his shoulder.

"It's for the best, Ruki."

I teleported back to my room, feeling extremely exhausted. I collapsed onto my mattress, nearly crying as the soft bed helped my tense shoulders.

"I'm getting old," I muttered.

Suddenly, the very same chill that I got from Ayato climbed up my spine, this time much stronger. I got off the bed, walking to my window and looked down, seeing a mop of blonde hair and blue eyes staring up at my window. I felt my heart pound painfully as tears made my eyes sting. I opened the window and looked at my prince charming, his appearance just as bad as mine. He looked like he didn't get much sleep, which was ironic to say about Shu.

"What are you doing here, Shu?"

"Come down here, Hoshi."

"Haah? I'm on the fucking third floor!"

He opened his arms and I panicked.

"I AM NOT JUMPING FROM HERE."

"Do you trust me?"

I paused before nodding and standing on the ledge.

"If you drop me, Shu, you're fucking dead."

I took a deep breath and took the leap of faith, a scream nearly coming out of my throat. Familiar arms surrounded me and the smell of Shu surrounded me. My teary green eyes connected with his tired blue eyes.

"We need to talk."
