20-Heartache

Hoshi's POV:

I sat on the couch in the living room and stared bitterly at the new TV I had forced Ruki to buy. I was currently watching romance movies while I was on my sixth pint of ice cream. Titanic was streaming and I pointed my spoon at it, eyebrows scrunched up in anger.

"HE DOESN'T LOVE YOU, ROSE!"

I whimpered as my heart ached, feeling extremely empty and dead like something was missing. Only this time, I knew exactly what was missing. I've been avoiding school like the plague for the past two days, not emotionally or mentally ready to face the blonde. My brothers don't know why I've been acting this way. My feelings have been all over the place but Ruki suggested that I went to school the next day. I ended up breaking everything in my room in a rage and my mood would easily swing, which resulted in me eating ice cream and crying.

"So this is heartbreak, huh?" I said bitterly.

"Are you okay, Hoshi-san?"

I turned my head away to see Yui a few feet away, her face showing concern. I growled, feeling the urge to punch her in her pretty face. Knowing that wouldn't result well, I took a deep breath and turned my head back to the TV.

"Hey, Pierro. Are you in love with Shu?"

"E-EH?"

Her face was a pink mess and I bit my tongue harshly, not excited to see that reaction.

"B-but how did you know?"

I twitched in anger and crushed the pint of ice cream in my hand easily, the sweet treat spilling over me and the couch.

"Pierro, I would suggest you get out of here before I actually kill you."

"B-but I'm concerned about you, Hoshi-san!"

I stood straight up, green eyes flashing dangerously. Anger must have been radiating off me in waves because Yui's eyes widened in fear as she backed up slowly.

"How dare you? You're nothing but a low life human who should be six feet under." I hissed.

I teleported in front of her and she scrambled backward, straight into a wall. I raised my hand, about to slap her but another hand grabbed my arm gently. I looked back to see Azusa, shaking his head gently. I sighed and dropped it and Yui took that as an opportunity to run away, probably to her room.

"Hoshi..."

"Why? Why did you stop me Azu?"

"You'll....regret it...later."

I felt the familiar stinging of my eyes that I've felt for the past two days. Azusa brought me into the kitchen and wiped the ice cream off with a towel and warm water.

"Are...you okay.....Hoshi?"

"It's just ice cream, of course I'm okay."

"No....I'm not talking....about the....ice cream...I'm....talking about....over here."

His finger was pointed at my left chest, where my heart rested. I inhaled sharply, surprised at how easily Azusa read the situation.

"No...I'm not okay." I croaked, tears falling freely.

Azusa gave me a sympathetic look before giving me a brief hug.

"Is it....about Sakamaki-san?"

I sobbed louder, my hands hiding my face. He hummed in understanding, stroking my hair softly.

"What....happened?"

"I...I confessed my feelings to him and left for a few minutes to find him kissing...Pierro."

"Yui-san?"

I nodded, not able to form any more words.

"I....see...so you're in...love with him."

"Yeah...but Karl told me that Yui is always the first priority, that if she picks him, then I can't do anything about it."

"You know....we cannot go....against his word."

I sighed, knowing how he was right. He was much too powerful for me to even challenge in the first place.

"But....I know....Sakamaki-san....doesn't love....Yui-san...back."

I flinched, looking up.

"That's....all I'm....going to....say."

"Hah, Azusa, you really know a lot about love for someone who has yet to experience it."

"There....was something....else I wanted....to discuss....Hoshi."

I looked up to see a serious and concerned expression on his face.

"What's wrong Azu?"

"Ruki....is acting weird.....he's becoming more....obsessed with....the plan..He wants.....to please Him."

"What do you mean?"

"He's....been forcing...us to drink...more of Eve's....blood."

"Don't you guys already drink too much?"

"Exactly....he wants...one of us....to awaken already.."

"That idiot," I muttered.

"You're...the only...one who....can talk some...sense into..him."

"In other words, you guys have already tried?"

He nodded about to speak but the sound of a scream echoed through the mansion. I and Azusa looked at each other, nodding and teleporting to the sound. Ruki stood there with an unconscious Yui in his arms in the cellars, her pale body a tad bit paler. He placed her on the bed.

"Ruki! Are you fucking crazy?!" I hissed.

"This is all for his plan. We should have treated her the way livestock are supposed to be treated."

Yuma and Kou appeared behind me, confused as to what was going on.

"Trust me, I have beef with Pierro right now, but this is pushing it! She's gonna die!"

"Shut up, Hoshi. As the eldest, I have the responsibility of doing things right. If any of you let her out, I will punish you myself."

Before any of us could protest, he disappeared. I scratched my head in irritation and looked into the tiny cell. It was dirty and Yui was unconsciously shivering in her sleep. I sighed, teleporting to my room and coming back quickly with a blanket, a pillow, and a chair. The three boys watched as I placed the chair next to her bed and moved her head so I can put the pillow under. I covered her with the big, warm blanket and grabbed her freezing hand, rubbing it and blowing some hot air on it while sitting in the chair.

"You guys can leave, I got her."

They seemed reluctant but Azusa reassured them before they all disappeared back to their own rooms. I sighed, shivering myself at how cold it was in here.

"Although I don't like you, Pierro, I'm not that much of a bitch to let you die. So for now, I'll be the one taking care of you."

There was no response and I looked out the little barred window. The night sky shone brightly, the nearly full moon catching my eye.

"Hmm, it's almost time for the lunar eclipse. The one where it appears in both the demon world and the human world. I wonder what will happen." I said thoughtfully.

I sighed and laid my head on the bed, closing my eyes and dreaming about a pair of blue eyes.
