Chapter 16

Jimin becomes flustered and says, "What?" Jihyo giggles and says, "The people shouldn't find out about what Mina said, they'll revolt because of tradition. Being led by someone not of blood line or legally bonded to the blood line will only cause rebellion. We also can't deny the fact that Mina is cutting ties with Rose because that'll only make us look bad."

Jimin composes himself and says, "Fine, I'll marry her." Rose holds his wrist and says, "Jimin... You haven't seen her since you imprisoned her. The Mina that you met a long time ago isn't the same. She's insane." He groans and says, "Can someone get me Chaeyoung or Suga? I need to have a word with them."

Taehyung, Chaeyoung, and Suga only served a year and a half of imprisonment. The 4 leaders showed mercy upon them as they only followed orders but in return they must serve the new unified nation. Mina on the other hand was to be imprisoned for life. She planned the killing of the former royalty and waged war upon the lands, however, they have given her mercy by not executing her.

Chaeyoung and Suga meets with Jimin as requested. Jimin says, "I need your help." They both raise an eyebrow and he says, "Suga, I-" Yoongi interrupts, "I'm not Suga anymore, that life is behind me. I go by Min Yoongi now." Chaeyoung breaks into laughter and mocks him, "ThAt LiFE iS bEhiNd mE. You're so serious about it, you just went back to your old name." Jimin says, "Please this is serious, Mina is breaking relations with Rose so we need someone in her family tree to rule. I need to marry Mina"

The shorter girl looks at Yoongi nervously and says, "We might have a back up plan." Yoongi sighs in frustration and says, "There's no way we can find him." Jimin looks at him confused and says, "Who's him?" Chaeyoung says quickly, "Mina'sBrotherIsAlive." Yoongi quickly covers her mouth while Jimin steps back completely shocked.

Yoongi makes eye contact angrily with Chaeyoung and whispers, "We promised that we die with this information." Jimin breaks it up and says, "H-her brother?" Yoongi sighs again and says, "You better sit down, this is a lot to take in." Jimin takes a seat and Chaeyoung stands beside him.

Yoongi says, "The story about Mina's parents death that everyone has been hearing is made up. Yes, Park Jiyong was there when they died and tried to save Rose but he never killed Mina's parents." Jimin's eyes widened as Yoongi continues the story, "It was Kai, Mina's brother. He heard of the plan for world domination and sided with Jiyong. He helped them escaped and even contacted Captain Jeon to rendezvous with your mother. He was the real murderer, Jiyong never laid a hand on Mina's parents."

Jimin looks at him shocked and says, "Why? Why did he kill his own parents?" Chaeyoung continues, "It was his plan. He would kill them and frame Park Jiyong so he could be the emperor but our parents caught on quickly. They figured out if Jiyong got to escape to Chou Nation then they can't stop Kai's rise to power." Jimin asks again, "Your parents?" Chaeyoung nods and says, "Agust and Hyuna. They stopped the two of them and punished them. Jiyong was killed by Agust while they erased any records of Kai existing. He was exiled and we never heard of him."

Jimin rubs his eyebrows and says, "So Kai was the heir but since he didn't 'exist' so Mina got the throne?" The two nod and he asks again, "Does Mina know about this?" Chaeyoung stays quiet then says, "It's complicated." Jimin buries his face into his hands and asks, "How are we certain he's alive?" Yoongi scoffs and says, "He's alive. He was only 15 years old when he fought off his dad and mom. He was the top of his class and was on his way to be the strongest man in the world but... our parents were better." He fist pumps Chaeyoung and she nods her head in agreement.

Jimin says, "I'll talk to Mina, this plan will be our last resort." Chaeyoung holds his wrist and says, "Mina is... different now. She hasn't been out for 2 years." Chaeyoung starts to tear up thinking about the state of her best friend and Yoongi says, "We should just look for her brother, she'll never agree to marrying you."

He ignores the short man and walks down the stairs. He notices a faint voice singing. Jimin's lips form a small smile as he approaches Mina's cell.

Mina notices him and laughs, "Hahaha, look who's visiting. Aww, you're as handsome as you were when we last met. Why are you here, don't tell me you're proposing?" Jimin chokes on air and coughs it out. He then says, "I just wanted to visit." Mina smiles and walks towards the bar but is held back by the shackle around her throat.

She extends her right hand and says, "I miss you." Jimin guides his arm through the bars and extends it. Mina smirks and with her left hand, she throws a sharpened rock which grazes his cheeks. Jimin steps back and Mina laughs again, "Hahahaha, you're still as naive as the last I saw you." Jimin says sincerely, "Mina... this isn't you. This isn't the Mina I fell in love with."

Mina looks at him with teary eyes and says, "She's dead. The Mina you fell in love with is gone, she's with her family now." Jimin opens the cell door and walks towards Mina. She continues to cry and Jimin glances at her state. She's dirty, restrained, in tears, pale, and thin. Jimin nears her body as Mina quickly wraps her arm around his neck.

He braces himself for a choke hold but it's different. She's gentle. Her touch is soft. Jimin makes eye contact with her red eyes as she pulls him in for a kiss. Her eyes close and so does his. Jimin feels the dryness of her lips and the eagerness of her kiss. A part of Mina's been waiting for this kiss. She waited from the day they met. Suddenly, Mina stops kissing but their lips are still connected. Jimin backs away and notices, she's not breathing.

He yells frantically, "Mina? MINA! You can't leave me now!"
