Kingdoms [A Jimina Story]

Chapter 19

Sana stutters, "T-that belongs to you?" Jongin smirks but it is soon wiped from his face as he notices Mina. He glances around and says, "You must be the doctor, may everyone else leave the room?" Yoongi and Chaeyoung make their way out and Jimin does after he makes sure that Mina is fine.

Jongin, Kystal, and Sana are left in the room. Jongin explains who he is and the story behind his former name. After Sana is caught up and recovers from the shock, she asks, "Why'd you come back?" Jongin looks at Mina and says, "Someone convinced me. They told me that Mina shouldn't be the one suffering for my mistake. They told me that I should take the burden of the throne so Mina could live a normal life she was robbed of. They also threatened to tie me up and starve me to death if I made the wrong decision." 

Krsytal smiles and says, "That was me. I convinced him." Jongin then says, "And, we brought a gift." Krystal shows a vile filled with a clear liquid and says, "We got this when we travelled far north. We usually use it at life threatening sicknesses but it should bring Mina back." Sana looks at her questionably and Kystal chuckles and says, "I know, you just met us and you can't trust us. So I'm sorry?"

Sana mutters, "What?" Jongin quickly restrains her and holds her back as Krystal looks around for a syringe. Sana tries to scream for help but Jongin covers her mouth with his hands. Kystal finally finds a syringe so she cleans it and inserts the vile. Jimin walks in the room asking, "So how was it..." 

He looks around and notices that Sana is being held back and that Krystal is injecting something into Mina. Jimin notices what's happening and charges Krystal. But he's stopped, by some brute force. Before knows it, Jimin was on the ground dazed. Jongin pinned him to the ground with one hand while holding Sana with another. 

Jimin is shocked by the strength the older man has. Krystal injects the vile into Mina's arm then puts the syringe down. Jongin notices this and releases the two. Jimin grabs him by the collar and yells, "WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER!" Krystal starts giggling then says, "Sorry, it's hard to be threatened when you have to look up to meet his eyes." 

Jongin pushes him away and says, "We did what we had to do." Jimin brings out his small blade but Jongin grabs his wrists. Jimin can't overpower him, he's too weak. While the two clash, Mina springs up gasping for air. She looks around the room trying to adjust her eyes to the bright light and notices the several figures in the room. Sana looks at her shocked while Jimin is struggling with an unknown man. There's also this very pretty girl.

Jongin drops Jimin's arms and looks at Mina with sorry eyes. She says weakly, "K-kai?" Jongin tears up and walks towards her slowly. Mina feels threatened but her body can't move. Maybe it's the state of her body as she just woke up from a coma or her hatred for her older brother. Jimin, Sana, and Krystal leave the two alone. 

Jongin says, "Mina..." Mina raises an eyebrow and he says, "It's me. Kai." She giggles and says, "What kind of sick joke is this, Kai is dead." Jongin shakes his head and says, "You know I did it, it wasn't Jiyong. You know I'm alive just accept the fact that I'm a murderer." Mina shakes her head with tears forming in her eyes, "No, Kai is dead. My brother is dead. He's no murderer. Park Jiyong is the murderer."

Jongin embraces her in a hug and says, "Mina, stop denying it. You know the truth." Mina pushes him away weakly as she just awoken from a coma and yells, "STOP IT! KAI IS DEAD! H-HE... HE DIDN'T KILL MY PARENTS! IT WASN'T HIM!" Mina breaks into tears and starts sobbing while hitting Jongin. 

She didn't want to believe the stories she was told. She didn't want to believe that Jiyong wasn't the murderer. Mina didn't want to believe that Kai, her very own brother, is the one who caused her suffering. But it was reality, it was the truth. Kai was a murderer.

Mina whispers after stopping her sobs, "Why did you come back only now? Only after all the pain and suffering I've gone through. Why did you come back now? You could have just lived your life not knowing any of the problems we are having here." Jongin stands and says, "My exile was lifted long time ago but I was too weak to come back. I was too weak to meet you again. But, I needed to comeback and fix things. I couldn't have just left you here alone struggling from the problems I caused."

Mina interrupts, "But you did. You left me alone. My life was a living hell because of you. Now here you come with the audacity thinking I would just let you have my throne." Jongin says, "I do have your throne. My exile wasn't permanent and I have the birth right to rule. Mina, I want you to live far away from all this struggling. You need to live a normal life, you've suffered enough."

She says, "But-" Jongin interrupts, "Mina stop, I won't let my little sister feel the burden of the throne ever again. You're resting and living like any other woman in her late 20s." Mina mutters under her breath, "Mid 20s, but who's counting." Jongin chuckles and she returns a small giggle. He says, "There we go, you're smiling again. Chaeyoung and Yoongi will bring you to a shelter, not too much people but enough for you to have company. If I see you working, I'll marry you off to a random stranger."

Mina pouts and says, "You can't do that." Jongin raises an eyebrow and says, "Are you sure? Is that a challenge?" Mina shakes her head and giggles. 

Jongin leaves Mina in the room to rest and recover then meets with Chaeyoung and Yoongi. He says, "Suga, you look exactly like your father. While Chaeyoung, looks nothing like her mother." Chaeyoung pouts and says, "I have my mom's eyes!" Jongin looks at her closely and says, "No, your mother's eyes were beautiful. She was taller and had a better body too." Chaeyoung slaps his face and says, "We've just met but I hate you." Jongin smirks and says, "But you sound exactly like her."

He turns to Yoongi. Yoongi says, "I go by the name of Yoongi now." Jongin raises an eyebrow and says, "Suga was way cooler." Yoongi scoffs and says, "Kai was cooler too but you don't hear me complaining of how dorky Jongin sounds." Chaeyoung fist pumps him while Krystal giggles at the scene. 

Jongin then turns to the quiet Jimin and approaches him. Jimin feels his stare and looks at him nervously. Jongin goes near his ear and says, "I heard you're the one who likes my little Minari." Jimin stays quiet and he continues, "You saw how strong I was earlier. That was me holding back and using only one hand. If you hurt Mina, you'll die a very slow and painful death by my bare hands." 

He then backs away from Jimin and smiles. Jimin stands there in shock and when he's alone, he visits Mina. He knocks on the door and checks if Mina was awake and she was wide awake. He smiles and says, "Minari!" Mina throws the empty plate which her dinner was served on straight onto Jimin's face and yells, "YAH! WHO TOLD YOU THAT NICKNAME!" 

Jimin giggles and says, "That's my Minari." Mina throws the vase next to her bed and screams, "STOP CALLING ME THAT!"
