Poem 114

"Be successful and go make me proud",

"Be yourself don't ever join the crowd".

"You're a failure and it's a shame",

"You've spoiled our image and family name".

You say too much and think too little,

Careful with your words, my heart is brittle.

You raise my spirits, then break them down,

And in the harsh words you spit, I tend to drown.

Who you want me to be is out of my reach,

Stop wasting your breath, save your speech.

I don't want to hear anything you have to say,

When all you do is discourage me in this way.

I cover my ears like a kid when you speak,

Because all that comes out of your mouth is critique.
